If he gets the outdoor championship he will have 2 SX and 4 outdoor titles plus his lites titles. I don’t think anyone can argue he IS one of the greats

When James in 08 laid down a perfect season he was unreal, and RC won everything between 04-05 it was insane.

but Tomac, when he hits that 6th gear....I dont know if ive seen more impressive racing. In 2015 on his Geico honda, the shit he did at Glen helen and lapping 3rd at Hangtown blew my mind and i dont know if RC or Stew could do that,

but a race between all three would be all time

I will be sad if Eli hangs it up after this year out doors ... does one more SX season and calls it quits. He's still a puppy...

Yeah I'm hoping he changes his mind.

I fuckin love watching him ride when he's on, it's so much anger coupled with all these little mtb techniques and a wfo throttle. Pretty unique.

I have ridden Southwick a lot and seen the best in the world race there and I have to say I have never seen anyone go as fast as Tomac did this past weekend. That bikes suspension was amazing. I saw him over jump shit land in or on braking bumps and it was nothing to him. In the first Moto down henry highway you jump off heading to the pits his bike got squirrelly he just man handlers that 450 straighten it out pinned unbelievable.

So Eli has 4 MX titles working on his 5th isn't all time but MC who has 1 MX title is? When it comes to Motocross Eli is vastly superior to MC.

People are gonna say I’m crazy but I think tomac is second to RC. The rides he put in on the geico bike in 2015 were insane. He has his times when he doesn’t gel with the bike and doesn’t do amazing but when it’s the opposite is so impressive.

I think he has the speed to win by a minute or so but has learned he doesn’t have to.

Pretty impressive ride in the first moto yesterday. He was 12th across the holeshot line and at 25 minutes to go in the moto he was 9.5 seconds behind the leader. Went by everyone and pulled out to a 10+ second lead before cruising it home to the win.

At most he would could of gone there 1 year earlier (they talked to Star in 2020 salt lake) but considering Star didn’t take over 450 til 2021 he really couldn’t have gone there before the 2021 season.

Couldn't agree more...It's absolutely insane. And it's hard to understand and realize if you have not seen him at this track in person. There has never been a rider blitz the sand, ruts and bumps of a humid Southwick like Tomac. NEVER... Literally gets a horrible start, it doesn't matter. He works his way up passing by out hustling and wearing down anyone in front of him working inside to outside to making his own line cross rutting wide open till he's in the lead then he is gone.. How he's able to walk after muscling that bike on those rough down hills, up hills and sweepers with that speed for 35 plus minutes is also amazing. He's one of the best ever. Not the best, but dam sure is in the conversation. So glad I got to see that yesterday.

I totally understand the logistics. I'm only saying IF Star had the 450 program AND Eli, we'd be looking at a very different picture.

Eli is in a completely different mindset with Star. Sure, beast mode was always there. But we had stressed, no smiles Eli, we also had inconsistent and bizarre Elito Mac. Kawi being too rigid to rider input/changes had to be a huge factor.

There is no denying that Eli has gelled with Star....that never really happened at Kawi.
