I'm sorry but no... There's nothing about the plastics that would qualify for a patent including the "mounting scheme". It would take a patent office between 6-8sec to reject such a silly submission.
Ok then what did they patent?

Why are you asking me you're the only one that said anything about a patent...

That was my first thought as well... What possible leverage or legal mechanism would KTM have to be able to tell an aftermarket company what and when they're allowed to develop a part? Answer.... None

A patent can stop other companies from selling knock offs. It is possible they have patented the mounting scheme. Ktm plastic kits for the new bikes (no graphics) are listed at the same retail price as acerbis so at least for now there is not really a good reason to use aftermarket plastic.

Well I did a search and found the German and Spanish KTM patents for front and rear fenders and shrouds so it appears the plastics can be patented at least in Germany and Spain. They also patented the TBI two stroke. If my German was better I could read them and get more details. I don't know if they will need US patents or if the German ones are good here.

The dealer told me he was told by his rep. Plastic for 23's would "most likely" only be available through dealers due to patent and licensing...

My 23 350 came in along with 14 other bikes. Dealer waiting on pegs for all of them.
No firm date on peg arrival or how many sets he will get.

Got my bike today (KTM 350 SXF) in Nevada and it had foot pegs! I heard the Huskys are also here or unloading.

Awesome! Looks like the old foot pegs will not work?

I just looked and it is a close call on the pegs. The inside part of the peg has an angle to it vs the old ones do not. However, the size seems correct, and it might be possible.

How tall is is compared to your other bikes? It looks to be quite a bit taller.

not much taller. I would guess an inch or so. Mostly because of the seat I think. The seat is stiff and taller than the others.

Ok thanks! I am short so 1inch is a lot. 😂

Let us know how you like it!

Just have to put a deposit on one. I’m first in line for a 350 SX-F but they have not arrived in SoCal yet, at least not at my dealer.

That's right! Just have to make the leap of faith. I got this bike by accident. I have a new 23 FC350 coming in up in Oregon next week. I was at my local KTM shop to buy some race gas and the parts guy told me they had one showing up in a couple of days and said I could have it if I wanted it! It is better to be lucky sometimes, I guess.

First ride tonight on the 23. The nice thing is I got to compare the bike against my fully mod 22 Husky 350 with a big bore. The 23 has much better throttle response and bottom end power. Even the mid might be a good bit stronger. I also have a 450 and to me this is much closer to the 450 then I expected. All and all very happy with the bike.

This is all I got Joe. I will get the 23 Husky next week and it is ready to race. I will take some of it as soon as I pick it up.

Your getting both a KTM and Husky 350? Be interesting to hear your take on the differences.

Yes, correct I have both. I will pick up the Husky next Tuesday as it is ready for me. I will try to do my best to return here to give you a compare. As you can see, I also have the 22 Husky 350 and a 22 GasGas 450 and that gives me good bikes to compare against as well.

Question is, how much do you weigh? I’m like 220 and had 350’s in the past. Just lacked some grunt to seat bounce stuff out of tight turns.
