From someone who’s actually a Florida native, the Villages can go fuck themselves times a million. That whole community is paving over every cattle field we have in Central Florida. It would be a better state without them and they should take all their STDs back to where they came from.
Only if they made a mx bike that didn't make loud noises
In my opinion they claim noise as the problem, use an e-bike and it will be dust or something else. You almost need the track to be surrounded by trees so it is out of sight and will help reduce noise.
I also find it interesting that these pros arent buying larger tracts of land for their tracks. 50 acres usnt small but a larger property would help, especially if the track is in the middle of the property.

Here is the scam: buy up all the property around an Mx track at low values due to the nuisance. Eliminate the nuisance (dust, noise, too many ugly Moto dudes, whatever), instant increase in value of your properties.

The loofa sells are out of this work in the Villages
Unfortunately you have to deal with the issue of, what was there first.
The old folks/golf cart mecca, or the moto area.
Even then that always goes against the "noisemakers"
Skydived for years at a remote airport out in the middle of nowhere.
Over time the subdivisions began their slow, cancerous invasion.
Soon we began hearing complaints about airplane noise, and the occasional jumper or 2 landing in their sacred neighborhoods.
A subdivision now sits where the airport had been for decades.
Hundreds of acres of woods, and watershed were plowed under as well, so they could have their cookie cutter homes, and driveways to wash their BMW's.
Enjoying life, and having fun is slowly becoming regulated into oblivion.
Tyla Rattray, a former South African motocross racer who trains other racers, had been granted a special use permit to operate a private motocross track on 52 acres in the Center Hill area. However, due to numerous violations, the county revoked the permit.
A special use permit still requires the owner to adhere to the municipal ordinance codes pertaining to decibel noise and land development. The conditional use permit when approved would state any special exemptions or added conditions required to be preformed by the owner. The article stated violations. Complaints are not violations.
I would think 52 acres would be plenty enough land to design with trees for noise and visual buffers. Special attention to accelerating zones for placement. We are talking a private training facility, not a public racing facility, so the use permit must have had a limit on riders on the track that was part of the violation? Has the owner checked his decimal level at the perimeter to protect from complaints?
When I was on the planning commission in my municipality I would always tell the complainers that you only own what you own. Meaning, if the property owner adhered to the laws then there is no issue. You should have bought the property when it was available.
"Rumor has it the split has created bad blood, causing Baker to lose riders. The other rumors floating around is that Mr. Baker allegedly paid some of those said neighbors to complain. The neighboring homes are trailers separated by county approve sound berms and the track.
Foul play is surrounding this railroading."
Not really surprising from the stories I have heard about it. Sounds like he did things wrong from the start and was basically allowing anyone that wanted to pay to ride. I’ve heard they had a lot of people out there at times and the track was going right on the neighbors fence line. Not sure if it’s been changed since then or not or even if that’s 100% facts. But there were other facilities in that area afraid of getting shit down once he started it. Hopefully he can get things going and everything will be all good.
Too bad. Especially amount cash goes into building, maintaining a track. However it won’t be the last. Florida is booming. Florida is one key states people are flocking too, avoid democratic states high taxation. Expect more America 🇺🇸 population to head there. Along with Business, and Banks. All about Tax. Big governments vs small government. Population flow.
Stuff like this makes me believe we’re never really free here in the USA… it’s off putting to say the least.. buy property and enjoy it… somebody wants to take you to court over something minor… what happened to live and let live? Also rattay should do a time (what time they’re riding) and sound test ( how far that sound is traveling) to see if those people are telling the truth or lying… like how they lied to shutdown fairplex mx over sound, the week the facility was closed, due to rain!

As someone from a northern state, if everyone around here that would prefer to live in Florida moved there, that would be just great.

Temporary zoning permits suck because it doesnt take much to lose it and it only takes one person to cause enough trouble that the county will revoke it. Almost impossible to get it back when its been pulled for non compliance.
Pretty sure he didn’t go through all the proper channels to have a training facility and he was also breaking the rules the county had placed on him. That’s why the county shut him down.

Florida is easily the largest boom state. 96,97 phase 3 was the world’s biggest construction project. A 54id pipeline Houston to Miami. We hhg drilled more feet in fl. Than other co.s did main line. I had back to back weeks in March runs to Florida. There is huge apartment complex’s going up everywhere. The only st that has traffic 24 hrs a day. 4st r just too loud they,ve closed countless tracks. We can’t ride past 1pm today because of the 4-st,s the county stepped in . And this track has been around since 1969. Most within a 1/2 mi r old alcoholic farmers that can’t hardly hear or mill rats that work swing shift - zombies. They could sleep threw a freight train going threw there bedroom.

As a Florida native who now lives in California, I say good. Let more people from the west coast flock to the east coast. I’ve lived in all four corners of this country. It’s all the same, you’ll pay in some way or another no matter what and they will always fuck with people who do Moto in favor of the land developers.

Take a gander at the comments, those people would liken him to a harden criminal with the actions they want taken.

From this article, it sounds (correct me if I am wrong) his conditional use permit allows only “friends and family”, and not “for profit” training.
If that’s the case, he might have a hard time defending the position.
1) Does it make too much noise?
2) Does it make too much dust
3) Is there an old tire on the property damaging the soil?
4) Are you having fun?
