We now live in the digital age. People expect to get their information as soon as it's available.

The complaints are valid. People have been paying to stream the races for 10+ years to watch all the motos live and commercial free. That's what everyone expects.

Now we pay to stream the races, but we have 3 motos that will be delayed and we now have to sit through commercials.

It's not difficult to see why people are a little upset about it.

This is an upgrade for MX Sports because they do not have to pay to have the races on TV and they are trying to convince us that paying more is an upgrade to us. Not all of us want to cut the cable and stream everything we watch so this becomes a direct increase to our bottom line, not to mention that where I live the internet sucks and streaming is brutal. I never have an issue with directv buffering. This is a step backwards as streaming will not bring one single new viewer.
The races are still on cable television. You don’t need to pay for the streaming option unless you want to stream it or watch qualifying.

That’s not necessary true. Not everyone gets Mavtv.

As far as the 3 races that are on nbc, just watch or record them there.

Well this sucks!
I’m using Mavtv plus and watched the dirt track race from Farley Iowa last night.

You can stop the stream but you can’t backup. If you stop the stream you can’t zoom ahead to real time.

Here it is the next morning and they have highlights of the race available but not the entire race.

I sure hope Mx isn’t going to be like that 🙁☹️

Referencing MAVTV Plus streaming, DC said this:
“It’s going to be better than Peacock if you’re a motocross fan.”

Better how?

Good question because NBC Sports Gold/Peacock was commercial free and all 48 motos were live. None were delayed.

MAVTV+ has 3 motos that are delayed broadcast.

Both platforms stream practice/qualifying.

Having 3 delayed motos and commercials is not a better streaming package.
I agree with all of these points from the Mega-Fan perspective. I think DC was saying that this new deal is better because all of the motos are going to be live on cable TV, which means nothing to us, since the TV partner they selected is not commonly available.

Mav isn't even on Comcast, the largest cable provider in the US. So, people will still have to change channels, stream from their phone or computer for other motos, and the majority of the people that DC is saying this is an improvement for is actually a downgrade, because I believe most people are in the same boat:

We don't get MavTV, so now we have to pay for another service to stream 45 motos, but then still pay for live TV so that we can watch the other 3 motos live. And don't even get me started on how there is not going to be a way to watch uninterrupted racing for all 48 motos, like we have been doing for 10+ years.

I grew up having to watch races at 3AM if I was lucky on ESPN looking at a dumb TV guide. For me I'm happy. All races live? Then dropping discount code in that video? This is NOT the NFL or EVEN close. I don't get the complaining. I just don't. You don't have to pay for cable. I completely only stream and cut the cord and only have internet. Now I get to directly contribute to my favorite sport. I think that's awesome. If we don't someday you might see it disappear IMO.

NFL has more downtime than gametime and if you go to a game in person you have to wait for TV to return. Maybe we should have riders pause the moto for commercials.

The last time it was on ESPN (in Aus) was 2018. I'm waiting until Friday to check the TV guide like I did with Supercross this year (it was only added a few days before) but, have MAVTV Plus at the ready.

I signed up but haven't purchased yet. $5 Aussie for the first month (not doing the annual) with the promo code.

I just downloaded and paid for MavTV Plus.
I followed the directions from MavTV on how to “mirror” from my iPhone to my LG or Vizio TV (since the crappy Mav app doesn’t offer casting). Things looked like they were going to work at first because my TV displayed a 4 digit code that I had to enter on my phone. When I hit play on the app on my phone (Apple iPhone 13) the screen went black and my TV just displayed a swirling “loading” icon. I can’t see myself watching the entire outdoor series on my tiny phone screen, so this might be the first year ever for me to not watch the nationals. Anyone know a way to fix this problem (besides MavTV introducing an app that was developed in this decade)?

I’m sure someone already answered this already but can I still watch on the NBC gold app? Last year was awesome. Live stream and no commercials. Don’t really care how much it costs me if I don’t have to watch commercials.

No. The series has switched over to MAVTV & MAVTV+ with 3 motos airing on regular NBC.

Why not just download the MAVTV Plus app on your TV and watch it that way?

I don't understand this..."Pay for another service"...these apps are monthly...pay as you go. Cancel Peacock and pay $6/month for 3 months to watch moto on MAVTV Plus. Just like Peacock and every other app in the world, you can watch it on your TV, you don't have to stream from your phone or computer.
Do you pay for cable to JUST watch moto? I doubt it, so you would have cable anyway, not JUST to watch the non-live motos.

So really nothing changes...you cancel Peacock since moto isn't on it, and you get MAVTV Plus for a 3 months, Or if you a race fan, you keep it and watch other motorsports.

Seems pretty straight forward.

If neither of your TV’s are “smart TV’s” where you can just download the MAVTV app directly to it, if you go to the MAVTV website on your phones internet browser it allows you to cast the stream to your other devices. The app itself doesn’t support the feature though.

Does anyone know if the only accepted payment method is via credit card? I was able to select my Paypal via Account > Manage Payment Method, but as soon as I check out with my seleted "monthly subscription plan", they only offer the credit card method. Pretty annoying since we usually don't use credit cards for anything here in germany, so there is no reason to get one. Some help would be appreciated.

Edit: While Paypal didn't work out via my Pc/Chrome, everything worked fine over the Android App + Google Store, no promo code now but at least still cheaper than the last years + no more fucking VPN needed. Let's honestly a nice addition for international viewers. Let's hope we have some banger racing and hopefully not too many commercials during the races.

I really don’t care that I have to download and pay for a different app. I don’t even really mind that 3 rounds will be delayed. The fact that it’s not commercial free is BS though.

The broadcast is going the opposite direction than it should. We have had commercial-free streams for around 10 years and this year the package is built for cable TV. The closest we can get to that is paying for MAVTV+, which will play the cable broadcast as it appears on TV.

We used to be able to watch all 48 motos live in one spot, and that is not possible for anyone this year.

I don't think anyone is complaining about the cost like you seem to imply. And this is also 1 issue, not even getting into the infrastructure of the app itself and how much less money and resources it has behind it. There's a thread right now on the front page where someone sent a support ticket and hasn't heard from the MavTV team in a week.

Got the mav plus app on my Roku. Figured I would watch a couple motos from 2014. If I skip forward to when the motos actually start I can hear the action but the picture is a frozen frame from when I started skipping forward.

Cliff notes: anyone having trouble skipping around in a archived program???

Mirroring from iPad or iPhone isn’t the solution here, MAV needs to fix their app so it can stream to tv’s. Screen mirroring from Apple devices you get black bars on the sides of the your tv making the picture smaller. Selfish move by Lucas Oil-MAVTV.

My Samsung smart tv made in 2020 has no app, and the screen mirroring is laggy at best for live events for me. A significant number of smart tvs have no app (for sure no Samsung or LG TVs).

Im going to download the app to my roku and watch the races through that.

I'm interested to see if JT will be as critical as he has been in the past now that he's on the broadcast team. Of those guys you just mentioned, JT is the most in-tune with how the common fan consumes the races.
