Ryan usually got good starts, wouldn’t be surprised to see him lead some laps Saturday

Very solid. I felt like Anderson and Sexton had a little more top-end speed in a few situations. But Dungey did a ton of laps and just looked like his old solid self.

Someone who looked visually rough today was Cairoli. He rode very few laps, rolled around a lot and seemed to be pulling in quite a bit and actually exited one of the sessions early. I only have a few clips of him due to this. Crossing my fingers he's feeling it more come race day.

Don’t be dissin the JET. That’s frowned upon around these parts. You know, Honda HRC, donut brothers, etc.

I have seen him having rough days before where he looked uncomfortable and barely rode. This was on saturdays during race weekends or even in the week prior when KTM hired our local track. He will be there this weekend.

Dungey is looking good though! Very excited to see these legends on the gate this weekendCool

Track doesn't look like it will suit cairoli, looks to flat and fast with big jumps. Cairoli is a technical rough track specialist. He always seemed to slower his pace at these type of tracks in GPS. Safe and steady as a crash will be a big crash at these tracks

Geez Dunge looks ON ! :-) He's def not coming to play around :-) Carioli will do fine , I even think the one day race format instead of two will play in his favor. So excited for this season . Ferrandis was flying last year :-) :-)

On Saturday. ...more

This wasn't press day TeamGreen, it was closed practice for the pre-entered pros to shake down their bikes and ride without having to work about amateur traffic out there at the same time. It's optional, and we've done it the last few years.

I think its inappropriate for you to intentionally mislead people for more views and clicks.

This is a cool storyline. Makes the opening round (and series) real exciting.

The funny thing is that even in his prime championship winning days, dungey never “looked” fast. He has always been fast though. Look at Barcia, he always looks like he’s flying but ends up not being the fastest. I’d say in that video you wouldn’t be able to tell if it’s been 5 years or 5 months since his last gate drop. He looks great. Excited to see how it goes, nothing but positives for him being out there as far as fans go.
My cousin was a motocross trainer/coach and I'll never forget when he explained to me the difference between what "feels" fast vs. what is actually fast. It's not just being smooth vs. reving the crap out of the bike, it also has to do with line selection, creativity, proper braking and acceleration points. t's hard to learn and these days, with so much video tech, it's becoming a lost art.

He'll shine during the second moto when the track is gone.

Plus, it was a pro-only day at the same track as the upcoming race with plenty of press there, hence the videos, so technically it's barely even misleading haha

AC used to do that a fair bit in MXGP practice sessions. He'd just cruise around on the pegs and pull in.

I kind of feel like that portion that was so strong in his career will need a little time to come back to him. Things are going to happen fast undoubtedly if you took 5 years off. I am excited to see all of the little stories play out bigger picture. How is AC going to do, how will dungey feel after 3 rounds, how is Tomacs knee long term with a dab.

DC said it wasn't a press day. ML said he called it a press day for SEO and views.

It doesn't bother you when media companies don't tell the truth in order to get more clicks?

Wow dude, relax. We know what you mean and this isn't that. Stop reaching.
DC didn't say it wasn't a "press day" as a dig against ML, he said it as an explanation why Tomac wasn't there. It wasn't a TRUE Press Day.
Good thing you're around to save us moto-idiots from the real threats of the digital world, huh?

I don’t have a clue what to label the day. Every rider and industry peeps I was there with called it press day. There was a press conference afterwards, so we’re going with it. I’m sorry I’ve mislead you down this deep dark rabbit hole of non-truths, lies, speculation, and other miss-information.

I'm sure he's fit, and we know he's motivated.

Can he maintain focus at top speed for every minute of both motos. though? Unlike the others, he hasn't been exercising that part of his brain for the past 6 years. Only time will tell if he can get back to that.

I'm hoping his starts are only decent so he can settle in and carve through the pack. If he holeshots, the pressure will likely be too great and he will cave, (as anyone would in this position) Some workmanlike motos to start will help him adjust.

Every Media guy that I know of was there (except Donn Maeda who is in Spain), so it sure seemed like a media day to me.

As I told ML yesterday, no one is talking about Garret Marchbanks, but he and Cameron McAdoo are going so fast this last week or two - to me, they look like the fast guys if Jett isn't in race shape yet.

Marchbanks is hurt and hasn't been on the bike since Salt Lake, except to do a few laps for a photo shoot. Plus he's racing a 450. I'm guessing you meant someone else?

I'm deeply offended that ML512 called this a press day instead of a "pro practice day with press attending and a press conference." It's this type of media misinformation that is our main problem in the world today.
