AMA hits Barcia where it hurts

The only thing we know is Barcia backed off preventing a collision. That’s pretty heads up and smart riding.

How do we know that? Because video shows that. Stewart cornered in the rut immediately below Barcia, not with a rut between. Stewart then exited the corner, occupying nearly the same space Barcia’s left bar grip would have been had he not hesitated. This happened without incident.

Arguing that it was textbook or fair only stands if you ignore that Barcia allowed it, a high speed maneuver in which Stewart could have taken Barcia out, to take place without incident.

This is awesome riding and racing by both racers.

Why would Barcia do that?

Why didn’t Stewart do the same thing?

This is poor riding by Stewart.
Yeah, why didn't Mookie check up... or, better yet, have those factory mechanics in Austria install a reverse to prevent the collision? Clearly not heads up and smart to allow a motorcycle to actually exist in any spot on the track where JB51 can aim the red torpedo.

Why didn't they just flat out DQ him from the race?

If what Barcia did is legitimate racing, I will become the oldest and slowest ever AMA SX champ. All I gotta do is blast everyone off the track in every corner. Wins by attrition will be awesome.

Just watched the press conference, also his podium interviews, I have never heard someone reference "i race for the money" more than him, I guess one could say he aint shy in saying he only races for the money, which is kinda interesting to me because we should do things because we love them and all the other reasons we sacrifice our lives for sport, but jesus man, money money money with this guy, quite strange stance no?. At least he's honest with himself and us? guess that's a positive.

I support barcia move and I would have supported the retaliation of mookie if he would have caught (almost did) and cleaned him out.. the crowd would have went wild if mookie would have cleaned barcia out!!! Then would we or the AMA bitched about that??

So the AMA should take note and fine the piss out of him then. I would extend his probation period for all of 2023 SX and if there is any other incident, it’s a black flag and a $25K fine. Sooner or later it will fucking sink in to him that not being fast enough and instead torpedoing other riders isn’t going to fly. Aggressive RACING is one thing. Flat out torpedoing another rider isn’t racing.

Chad Reed got black flagged for bumping Trey off the track, never forget.

Just stopping by to say thank you to Barcia, Mookie, Musquin, and Webb. They made a main event that was going to be a snoozer absolutely great to watch. Shout out to Webb in particular for the class act move of letting Mookie go by. Not the biggest Webb fan but that was pure class to let them duke it out.

Barcia deserved getting points docked. That was a straight up hit job he put on Malcolm.

I think he let him by because he was off the track and would have been docked for gaining a position anyways.

Barcia clearly hesitated.

Stewart chose not to protect himself. Barcia protected himself.

Barcia should fight for all the points the AMA took from him and run -13 on his plates (I think that’s the total he lost this year).
I’m sorry, but you sir, are delusional.

Had Barcia not done that they would have exited together with Stewart having the momentum and taking out Barcia’s left grip as they would have been together on the exit.

Heads up riding by Barcia.
Will you shut the hell up already. You are making zero fucking sense. They are in separate ruts and exit side by side.

Classic Barcia move, gets passed cleans rider out that passed him.
I’d like him him alot more if he made these kinda moves while he was moving forward and not back.

That’s the tbone or pass ? Who wouldn’t go for it ? It’s like driving in the steep hills and sharp curves in the N east. You run someone down 2 mi in front of you. Then they want to race you. Don’t be a sleep during the race and get run down. There wouldn’t be a hard pass if the other rider was faster. Justin is faster that’s why he is on the rider. He wouldn’t make hard passes if the other rider was faster .

The ultimate irony in all of this is, if Justin wouldn't have ridden like a dumbass this season (taking out various riders who all eventually got him back by putting him on the ground plus Barcia being put on probation and losing points for dirty riding while on probation), he would have easily finished 3rd in the points race, his best season ever. But Anderson taking him out, Mookie taking him out, Bogle taking him out, et al plus multiple races where he was docked position points resulted in him dropping from 3rd to 5th on the season. He's LOSING money by riding like a dumbass, but at the same time he says he's racing like a dickshit for the money.

At what point does Barcia come to the realization that kind of riding is PREVENTING him from making more money?

Excluding dumbass moments like the topic at hand, he's a very consistent top 3-5 rider.

I don’t know about that. Not ridding like that while under suspension didn’t do anything for him, or the sport.

Your 3rd picture Barcia adjusted and reduced is lean angle and speed.

Your 4th picture Barcia and Stewart are still in the ruts and not out of the corner but they were about even with Stewart having the momentum over Barcia.

Your 5th picture they are out of the corner, into the obstacle, with Stewart in Barcia’s operating space but leaned away from him.

I was surprised too when we took first place over Tomac and Vuillemin.

Qualifying times are a good look to see who’s “faster”. Malcolm qualified ahead of Barcia 17/17 times this year with numerous #1 spots.

Malcolm also finished well ahead in series points. You literally have no argument.

If your argument had any merit they would end the race after qualifying. They don’t for some reason.

Wasn’t Stewart only 3 points up on Barcia last week? I seem to remember 3 points and docked positions being an issue to Barcia some time ago.

Yup, they don’t end it after qualifying because of AMA rules. Same rules that lost Barcia 13 points this year.

Malcolm’s faster, got more points, and earned more money. Suck it squid.

Barcia’s Stock just dropped big time IMO.

When an entire Stadium turns on you, you’re doing something wrong.

If I was one of his Sponsers, I’d be talking to Mookie real quick!

Barcia and Stewart gave everyone an exciting race in a series that has become boring.

I don’t known how the AMA is going to make their 2023 promos exciting if all they show is Sexton crashes, clean passes, and fireworks from Tomac/ Anderson wins. They are going to claim supercross is so extreme but the only thing extreme about it is Barcia. The second half of the season has been anything but exciting, except for this race, thanks Barcia.

I’ll bet the guy they punished, Barcia, gets featured in that promo.

I won’t pay to watch. I also may not care about the AMA or supercross at all now.

Thanks Barcia (and Stewart) for making a series that’s become boooooring, entertaining.
If you don't find entertainment in clean battles between the sport's best riders (Tomac v Anderson for example), then you're not a real fan of the sport. Needing dirty riding to give you enjoyment is WWE type stuff.

Qualifying is one lap. Qualifying is heavily dependent on bike set up.
