^ So, Moto Tribology, I have to guess that you hold a position of equality and love for all people, despite their stance on gender identity, as do I. You probably want to accept people for what they are on the inside, as do I. You also don't believe that anyone's personal choice about their gender identity is anyone's business but their own. (I just broke grammatical rules to satisfy non-binary people by saying "their," BTW - that's growth, I guess!)

It sounds like you have a different stance on the athleticism thing, though. You'd be well outnumbered by arguing your point, but I'd like to hear it anyway. So far nobody has been able to argue a point which makes any sense to me, but perhaps there's an angle I haven't considered.
Alright, as a pretext, I'm not looking for an argument or to change anyone's mind. I got the message last time I weighed in on this...
Alright, as a pretext, I'm not looking for an argument or to change anyone's mind. I got the message last time I weighed in on this that I'm a shitty father, should be ashamed of how I'm raising my sons, and it would be totally different if I had girls (which exactly contrary to what I'm saying). I'm not trying to get into any of that.

I'm for the most part a live and let live kind of guy. LGBTQ+ is fine with me. It has no direct effect on me. I have multiple family members within those sexuality and identity groups and it's all good on my end. If someone wants to be happy and that is the thing that helps them get there, it's no skin off my back to respect that.

Sports should be co-ed from pee-wee to pros. I am well aware of the difficulties and disparities there would be. I could go into it at depth, but it makes me go off the rails on a million tangents if I try. In general though, I think it would bring much improvement to the world of sports as a whole and be especially beneficial to young children.

With regards to lost scholarship opportunities, I'm sorry but that's falling on deaf ears here. It is a SCHOLARship. Scholarships should be given out based on academics, not how good you play a game regardless of gender.

I played sports, I have no axe to grind with jocks in my high school, I just think academics should be the focal point of schools. I also think physical education should be taken more seriously and treated like a real subject, and not a goof-off period.

I had a much, much longer post written out that I mostly deleted. I kept a few snippets that were coherent, but it was pretty much rambling and all over the place. If you want to discuss anything I said, I'm happy to do so. If you want to tell me I'm wrong and an idiot, by all means go ahead and hit that downvote.
Just one issue.

Scholarships are academic in that they are used to study, but they aren't always based on current or prior academic achievement and given based on rankings of said achievement.

There are plenty of scholarships that are only awarded to residents of certain towns, graduates of certain high schools, children who have parents who work for certain employers, etc. that don't have to compete with the population at large for those funds.

You got an upvote from me.

I disagree that sports should be co-ed at all levels, and I think that scholarships based on other qualities than academia are valid, as long as the academic minimums are also met for those students receiving them. But you have a valid argument, at least.

IF there were no women's sports, obviously transgender females would not be an issue.
Secondly, why are PE classes and intramural sports even a thing? Is it just tradition, or do we recognize the need for growth in mind and body? I think the latter.
In any case, while we do have athletic-based scholarships and while there are still female sports, those classifications need to be fairly protected. I would not be as against a re-thinking of the status quo, as you suggest, than I am against allowing trans women to compete as biological women.

I think PE, if taken seriously (not to say it can't be fun, just that it is often considered a joke period with reject teachers even if that isn't necessarily the case), is an important aspect of education. Kids should be taught how to use their body and physical activity is important for health. Like you said, kids need to grown their minds and bodies.

Combining leagues at higher levels and professional levels would help in a number of areas

- It would put pay disparity controversies to rest (people get paid based on their skill, not the league they play in)
- Trans eligibility concerns would be moot
- I think it would help push our culture with regard to gender issues and outdated thinking to a better place

If transgender is as widespread as we are told, eventually what we will have is just more men sports.
I'm sorry (not sorry), but when some dude shows up in the LPGA I will quit watching.

So... I am really trying to wrap my head around your statement in paragraph three.

Are you saying you don't want girls/women involved in "athletic" sports after around grade 9-10? I am totally going to make up a statistic and say that 95% of all "athletic" sports would consist of roughly 95% biological males.

Another EDIT: Do you believe all these co-ed athletes should use the same locker/showers, etc...? Seriously, this is a real question. I really don't know were your proverbial line is drawn.

I can pretty much agree with all your other statements. Paragraph three, not so much. EDIT Not totally on the scholarships, but I get what you are saying there.

I think I get your question. I guess the answer would be no, but .... yes? If your made up statistic is right, then I guess that breakdown would be right and it would be severely limited. In reality, I think it would take time but the percentage of competitive women would be higher.

I don't see why bathrooms need to change for this. Women use women's and men use men's locker rooms. I don't think the world is quite ready to share a toilet or shower with the opposite sex.

As usual, Southpark does make the point. The woman on the 2rd Place step is represents what were doing to Women's Sports. That's my take on all this.

Also, I understand where others are coming from when they say...

All sports should be Co-Ed
...or...
Lea isn't cheating, she was given an opportunity that should never have been created
...or...
Even when people say,"Some of us are too wound up about Identity Issues."

I get it; but, I also see how some folks, including me, can clearly see that we've jumped the shark in the name of fairness and we are RUINING or kid's sports as we sit on the sidelines and let this happen.

Again, like I've said about the different places we are all coming from...I get all of it; but, so much of what's going on, like the U-Penn-Lea situation, just isn't realistic and still doesn't address what's happening in Amateur, High School & College sports: there's a situation where we've so eagerly pursued this desire to be "so understanding" that we're ruining the game in the name of...

Our Feelings.

All the while we're leaving reality out of it.
What reality, you say?
Well, the basic known scientific understanding of the male and female body and their "separate and certainly not equal" bio-chemical make-ups.

And, SERIOUSLY, I apologize if ANY of that comes across as smart-assed or snarky: not my intention.

Here's how to achieve true equity for these athletes if we're that serious about it & it wouldn't be difficult to do:

Male, Female, Males competing as Female, Female competing as Male.

There it is. Fair and sorted on the basis of our current cultural intent.

Now, here's a question that's not as pointed as some may take it...

Is this really about fairness & equity?

If so? Well then, Just Do It.

So why do your people reject transgender people ? After there sex change they go back to google, apple, star bucks and there treated horrible. They end up being a manager at a truck stop. Because we r the only ones in the country that really don’t care. We just want the ovr priced oil or sandwich and don’t care who sells it. Scholarships should go only to academics r your kidding right. Anyone can get high grades but can you hit multiple game winning shots and be a super star every week. Have the gym and halls packed with extremely high expectations and strangers yelling your name . The people create the madness all I did was dominate. You put in countless hrs perfecting your craft and hv a massive amount of confidence. It’s a living dream. I couldn’t imagine being a girl having to complete against a guy. We r 100% there to beat the crap out and demolish the competition. Like a wild animal that needs to kill to survive 100%. That makes millions for the university. Plus a lot of people like to see a athletes body what a boy or girl,s body is capable of looking like. Go to a d1 track meet or the Penn relays on a Olympic yr . Tv doesn’t do them justice. Watch the men and women sprint. It’s super crazy to hv them race each other.

“ Well I'm not the world's most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my Lola la-la-la-la Lola
Well I'm not dumb but I can't understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
Oh my Lola la-la-la-la Lola la-la-la-la Lola”…….

Pretty, got an ass, but has the same glove size as me?
How do people fall for that?

We live in the FATTEST nation in the World. Yes, PE does need to be taken much more seriously! How many of the maladies effecting our health could easily be solved through exercise and eating right?

The virus that shall not be spoken of, leading cause of death? Obesity.

Got in to a discussion with a 300 pound woman at my previous employer, whom I watched eat three meals a day out of a bag or box. “It’s genetics”, she told me. My response, “I come from a family of obese people, at a young age I decided that I didn’t want to look like that”. Next she said, “it’s the hormones in the food”. “Why doesn’t it effect all of us the same, shouldn’t we all be overweight”?

People are all looking for an excuse to justify their own poor life choices. It’s lIke people who file lawsuits after being injured in a known inherently dangerous activity. “Mother fucker, you should have known what you were getting yourself in to”. Looking for somebody to blame? Look in the mirror.

Sorry, if I’m terse, 3 1/2 hours of sleep from the constant ringing in my head isn’t cutting it.

There are things men do better than women. Testosterone, muscle mass, and bone density play a role. A biological male does not belong in Women’s/Girl’s/Ladies Sports. Being born male is an athletic advantage.

You also can’t convince me that a woman passed Ranger School or BUD/S without a lowering of the physical standards. Women’s physical standards are lower in the military generally.

We are different for a reason, we’re not equal. If we were the same, one of us wouldn’t be required. If transgenderism is really that prevalent in society, we are doomed as a species. Not much of a chance for reproduction.

I’m going to say something unpopular here, going to try and walk the line without finding myself in the Vital Penitentiary again, doing a longer bid.

How many of these Transgender are the victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse? No, I’m not a “Q” guy. Pixies little brother? Sexual Abuse Victim and has identity issues. My Aunt Billy? Sexual Abuse Victim with identity issues. Others that I’ve known with identity issues, Childhood Sexual Abuse is a recurring theme.

Again, I’m not a “Q” nut job. Just realize that there are Monsters in our Society. Those monsters are 9 times out of 10 men. Maybe we need to be raising better men! Psychologist’s and Psychiatrist’s say that pedophilia offenders are the one group of criminals that can’t be rehabilitated. Seems like a swift death is the answer.

Sorry, I think too much about root causes, rather than justifying behavior.

The victims of childhood sexual abuse that I have known (that admitted it to me personally) have been straight men, the abuses were all done at the church. My sample size of this is fairly small so I won't draw hard conclusions from this annnecdotal evidence.

Is childhood sexual abuse a common thread among people that make radical changes or approaches to their identity later in life? Probably. These don't have to be sexual, they can manifest in different ways, exercise, religion, art, tattoos, etc. I don't think there's a statute of limitations on child sex crimes. Maybe we should start asking transgender identifying people if this is an issue and investigate/prosecute those that wronged them. We should be better about preventing abuse, seems like every week I see some creep getting arrested on my local news for something child related, I don't think I've ever seen a transgender person's picture. Again that's highly anecdotal.

This thread started because of this athletic situation but since it started the conversation in the US had moved beyond this issue to broader gay and Trans rights issues. Like I said on page 1, I see sexual orientation and gender identity as a question of freedom and liberty. Freedom is messy and that manifests itself in various ways, some people like having a bunch of guns, some people like living their life as a gender they choose. Our job as a free society is to say "have fun, don't be a fucking idiot". Yes, I do think Trans women competing at a high level of women's sport qualifies as being a fucking idiot.

I didn’t say they had any less rights. I’m a big believer in live and let live. Not entirely sure if you misconstrued what I was saying or are just trying to make your own point.

Being from New Mexico, can tell you about the atrocities the Catholic Priests have committed against children. Not just here in the state, but the diocese had a “retreat” for pedophile priests in the Jemez mountains, where they brought pedophile priests from other states. Does that make religion bad? No. Asking any man to abstain from any/all sexual activity is going to cause some mental health issues.

My opinion, my conclusion is drawn from my experience and interaction with people. Nothing more, nothing less.

I’ll be the first to admit that physical exercise is a “blow off valve” for me. It’s one of the things that keeps me centered. If I told y’all half the shit I’ve been through in my life, you’d be impressed at the man I am today.

I’m not calling for interment camps or executions. Just don’t believe they deserve to be a special class with preferential treatment. Tried to throw my own familial experience in there so I didn’t come across as a bigoted hate monger.

I didn't mean to attack your post, just add to it. Alot of abuse victims either do things to forget or do things to assert control over themselves.

The thing is is that the conversation in the US about gender/sexuality, race, religion, and other equality issues is absolutely dominated by the extremes of the sides. It's unfortunate, because we have such a good thing going in this country at this time.

I didn’t take it as an attack. Just wasn’t sure where you were headed. It’s these unadulterated conversations, if people will open their mind and think, that actually make the World a better place.

We’ve got a giant division. Most only agree with whatever their favorite talking head is espousing at the moment. I try to think outside the box. Despise when people try to put me in a box. I’m sure you know what i say they can do with that box! 🤣

Only place I ever see racism is on tv. My best friend is black, normally our group is predominately Hispanic. Throw some Natives in there for good measure.

The more I live the more I learn.

I'm pro LGBT because I believe that is an expression of freedom and liberty and it isn't my business, but this athletic shit is ridiculous. When you sign up for a sport you no longer have that same freedom, you are bound by the rules of the sport which alot are there to maintain fairness. Men's sports should just become like an open class for anyone to compete in, then have a women's class too. If a woman wants to step up to the open class they should be able to. Just like motorsports. But biological women should not be put at a disadvantage in their class.
Google John Money.

If you’re not too stubborn, you’ll rethink your stance on the pro-LBGT stuff.

So... I am really trying to wrap my head around your statement in paragraph three. Are you saying you don't want girls/women involved in "athletic" sports...

I guess the answer would be no, but .... yes? If your made up statistic is right, then I guess...

His stat is wrong.

Sports would be 100% male participants once puberty age. Why? (1) testosterone matters a LOT and (2) the mentality of boys/men is very different than girls and it gives the male “sex” a huge advantage.

To pretend otherwise is purely cognitive dissonance.

One point I dont think you realize you made that I agree with tho, if going your route, it would improve the social debates regarding sex/equality. Because it would settle things definitively. We could stop pretending women are as capable as men at certain things - because they’re clearly not.

Just the same, women are better than men at certain things - such as having babies.

That’s the irony here, is that the ultra woke / leftist / feminism ultimately undermines the original intetions. By trying to prove that women can be as good at men on an equal playing field, it only highlights that their actually best served at home making babies. By ruining girls sports, girls can then devote their lives to their true purpose, a purpose the left has been offended by since the dawn of feminism. Lol - the joke writes itself.

Which might I add, making babies is a special and magical thing - Im in no way denegrating the female sex’s role in humanity. In fact, Im highlighting how important they are.

Unfortunately, the opposition ideology now wants to convince us all that a woman’s biology is as fluid as a whim. Men can get pregnant. And all other sorts of perversions of reality. It’s a total clown show.

Basic reality is on trial but this is the inevitable outcome when leftism runs rampant. And therin lies the rub - for any liberal to admit what a clown show this is, they must start questioning their chosen political ideology as a whole. That presents quite the moral conundrum. But then again, logic is not a moral virtue. Relativity is the opposite of truth in this context and so the mental gymnastics continue.

Without contrition there is no resolution.

When someone asks that, I respond: It’s not about identity issues. It’s about TRUTH. And truth matters.

If it doesnt? How the fuck do we expect to survive as a species if basic truth is considered heresy?!?

That’s a loaded question - because one side of this argument doesnt care about the survival of the human race. In fact, they think our existence is a cancer to the earth. That opinion alone helps shape their morality around any number of topics.

All of this, at it’s core, when you dig deeper than simply the surface identity crap, it’s just an attack on reality. And ultimately the normalization of the perversion of reality. So that literally anything can be justified.

Maybe there’s a conspiracy. I doubt it. This is all the natural byproduct of affluency imo. The Roman Empire did all the same stuff. It became so successful that by purely organic means reality & truth was no loner a requirement for survival and so then people lost touch with essential cognitive basics. So much so that pedophilia was eventually normalized as the empire was crumbling.

Humans do weird shit when we are removed from the struggles of everyday survival. It’s why Im not surprised Bill Gates wants to depopulate the world, Elon Musk wants to go to shithole Mars, or Hunter Biden smokes crack. It’s unnatural for survival to be this easy. So we create issues. And ultimately collapse under the weight of our own apathy & lack of discernment.
