When will 22 become available, assuming Reed does not race again?
Should be available next year.

Star have tomac and ferrandis for 450s so that team is fine without Craig.
250s have only have nate thrasher fit if they were to race 2moro.
J-coop and j-mart possible won't make rd1
I hear kitchen has a tibia plateau fracture and that can be a long recovery.
Colt had a double arm break. He is ment to be fit for rd1.
Could be interesting.
Yeah I’m surprised CC doesn’t give 250 outdoors a shot. Most likely his last chance at a AMA championship. Unless he’s ducking Jett??

He’s been out testing at Glen Helen with his brother, since Aaron isn’t riding yet. I’m guessing they are having Ryan get the bike roughed in for outdoors ?
He posted some videos on Instagram, so there are people who think he’s racing now. I’d love to see him get back to that kind of speed, but very doubtful that’s the plan.

It looks safe to say that Craig will win the 250 West coast championship this year. By winning that championship, Craig will be able to select a permanent national number. With Justin Brayton retiring from AMA Supercross/Motocross at the end of this Supercross season, the number 10 will become available. Brayton has earned enough points this season that if he was to return next season he could keep the number 10. However, with him having no plans to race AMA races anymore he could release that number. If all of this happens and Craig does not win the 450 2022 AMA Pro Motocross championship, I would be willing to bet that we will see Craig debut in 2023 on a 450 with his new AMA permanent national number 10.

Winning a regional SX championship does not allow you too select a permanent number, you also have to finish top ten in combined points. If Craig finishes well in MX series points along with his 250 SX points he should be there in combined points and will get to pick a permanent # anyways.
At some point they changed the rule to allow 250 sx champs to pick a 2 digit number. That is how Mookie has 27. Being that he has not raced outdoors in years he never was top 10 in combined points.

He’s been wanting to be a full time 450 rider for quite awhile. I doubt he’s ducking Jett, but there’s plenty of other talent to worry about too. Should be a fast group up front, hopefully multiple winners.

I disagree. Depending on the status of jmart and j-coop.
If both of those guys miss the 1st month of mx which is possible.
Using last season as a form guide.
Jett won 8 jcoop 7 and jmart 6 that's 21 out of 24 races.
Hunter won 2 and jalek won 1 race.
If u take away jcoop and jmart from the standing jett wins 15 races and 8 rounds.
Last year's points
Jett 497
Hunter 381 -116
Rj 364 -133
Jo 340 -157

As it stands going into 22mx jett is a clear favourite with hunter rj and shimoda a good distance back. Then u have mcadoo colt jalek and brown.
If jcoop and jmart are fit the should be 2nd favourites. If they are out and I was star I make Craig race 250 as he would be there best chance at a title.

Probably zero since CC’s 250 contract is with Star and his 450 contract is with Yamaha….Yamahas 450 riders are all contracted to Yamaha and Star has the contract to run the 450 team…the 250 team is 100% Star…

Pretty sure that Christians contract is set for 450’s outdoors already. All valid points though, but as we know, next season will have hungry rookies that are very fast too. I’m up for a wager, if you are ?
Based on Jett not running away with it. Not that he’s not capable, but there will be others in the hunt too.

Wasn't Dungey the fastest guy at the test track when he went to ride SX late last year/earlier this year?

I hadn’t heard that, but he’s definitely still in great shape and it wouldn’t surprise me.
Competing / Racing with the others is probably a stretch, but I’d love to see him give it a go.
When he was trying to get that Honda deal going, I was so hoping to see what he could do. His commitment is top notch and he would give it 100%, no doubt !

Same rule applies to Justin Hill earning a permanent number.

Since numbers don’t have any meaning any more (except “1”) he should select a letter like “A” or just write his first name on his plates like contestants do on Jeopardy.

My mistake. It was outdoors after the nationals last year, not SX. Weigant brought it up in a video he did with Dungey. Said that Roger mentioned that Dungey was as fast as anyone he saw ride that year including his own guys.

Dungey said he didn't believe it, but I think his face kind of said otherwise. He appreciated the comment from Roger.

Who really knows.

I’d love to see a motivated / commuted Ryan Dungey race again, even if it’s in the Vet class. Which would be bitchen.

No idea why no one wants to run the 8. Some people think it's because it's an ugly looking number.

I personally like it.

I was hoping Jett was going to take it, but he kept 18. If you've earned the right to a single digit number, run it.
