K, it was only 992, and I swerved through Peoria, Illinois to look at a shitty 1968 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon ( might buy), and visited my daughter and grandkids in Ames, Iowa, before slamming into frigid Minny. I’d have better and more comprehensive pics for you, if they’d let me in the pits (sonsabitches) and, also, I froze my silly ass off, up there, whilst having a blast. Enjoy !

Nice pics.
I was born in 65, my bro in 67 and my folks had one of these, (I think a 69 or 70 model?) and we spent so many hours goofing off in those rumble seats driving all over the midwest on family trips!
And not ONE mile of those thousands traveled were
we EVER seat belted in!
(Hell I don’t even know/remember if there were seatbelts back there, although I see them on the seats in the pics!) But at least we had a seat to sit in and were inside the car! Ha
If we weren’t rollin’ in Mom’s station wagon, we were in Dad’s 1971 Ford F100 and we always rode in the bed of the pickup!
Man those were some of the most amazing times!
Kids these days with their car seats, seatbelts, bike helmets, knee-pads… 🤪👍

Was a great era to grow up in. So many helicopter and bulldozer parents these days....sad.
This was mom taking a picture of me jumping the fire pit (too bad her timing was off).....
Thanks mom!
No helmet, no knee pads, and jumping a BMX bike over the FIRE PIT while dear ol’ Mom takes the picture!?
DAMN the 70’s were a great time to grow up in! 😎👍
Folks had 2 of the green ones throughout most of the 70's (alas, no simulated wood grain side panels)
6 kids at home at the same time so we needed the room.
Loved the jump seats and we always argued over who got to ride in the back.
As mentioned already, seat belt use was "optional".
When I could drive you knew who your friends were cause they would cough up for gas
I think ours got about 10mpg.
Good friend's folks had one with the fake wood panels.
On the flatlands he could hold his own with most of the guys with the 4 wheel drive trucks.
Had to pull him home one night when he clipped a stump in the dark and took out the transmission lines.
Dad had pickups and we rode in the bed of those too.
I remember 5-6 of us playing "tag" in the bed while dad drove us home from the state fair on the Interstate.
Good times for sure!
