There's been some rumors or miss-communication going around that Perris Raceway, here in Southern California, will be closing for good. That's not the case and we sat down with the new management behind the track to learn more about their plans for the legendary track.

Good to hear!, hope they keep the "90" ...it has always been the signature jump at Perris. Bring back the water hoses, and split up practices regularly to keep things safe and they can return it to it's glory days!

Looking forward to the changes. Count me in as a regular.

Suprising that they are adding a SX track and a Stacyc track to what already appears to be at a land locked or at capacity facility. However, I am all for it in their reasons given for building and giving back.

Ride on…

Sounds like a lot of good ideas and we are looking forward to the revamp! The PA is helpful but can not always be managed or heard. Put a digital display board like at a baseball game showing the race # and rider position.
Oh and will it be watered twice a hour? Heard some guy complaining about that once😁

ML, this was awesome I just wished you touched based on one thing.. how are the going to redesign the tracks? Is Perris main going to go back to being a gnarly track with triples and whoops? Or are they going to keep it friendly for multiple levels of riders? Because as the main is right now, it feels like a great vet/ intermediate track. Nothing really do or die etc.

They're keeping it friendly to all skill levels and will be taking feedback all the time for quick changes.

That was refreshing.

I hope they're still working on trying to get that other "Iconic" track open.

Stoked on this group and where they want to go with all of this.

Really sounds like they’re going to make Perris a great track again. Bringing back hot summer nights is going to be huge. I grew up racing that series, as I’m sure anyone who raced in SoCal from the late 90’s- 2000’s did. Supercross invitational will be cool too! Hope they follow through with everything they’re saying. Can’t wait

That would be awesome.

Slightly off topic: When he talked about the pit incident that forced Saddleback to shut down, was that during the track’s brief reopening during the early 2000s?

I don't know about that.

Also, I don't think it's the "actual" Saddleback that opened in the early 2Ks...?

Pretty sure they were talking about the original Saddleback that closed in '84.

Seems like a lot of work considering it only rains once a year here. Hope it works out and it's not closed for very long. Sounds like it could be closed for quite awhile.
