Honestly, he seems to be guilty of self-sabotage mentality so that he has a pre-established story/alibi in case of a poor performance.

The way he was talking leading up to A1, I was totally expecting him to come out flat, finish somewhere around 5th, and then blame it one “been sick and struggling…. still racing my way into shape”

I like KR, but dang, just seems like dude is always struggling with something and can never be 100% good to go.

I'm not a Roczen fan, but his skill is undeniable. The non-Roczen fans benefit from his inconsistencies and "mystery" illnesses. We need them, because it's safe to say what would happen without them. Last night was yet another example. Love or hate the guy, he's got the skills to put it to everyone at any time. If he winds up feeling "mysteriously" healthy all season, he will be the champ. An ugly reality all non-Roczen fans must deal with.

He should listen to the doctors who tell them they can’t find anything wrong with him. At this point, it’s obviously psychological / all in his brain.

Clearly it's not an "excuse," he only mentioned it because he was so suprised that he won even when dealing with it. After the race you can hear how shocked he was when he asked his mechanic "can you believe that?"

As someone said, you guys want transparency from riders, except from Ken, then it's all "excuses"

Excellent point. 2016 outdoors is a great example of this. The magnitude of his 2017 injures made everyone forget that he basically embarrassed everyone for 3 months.

I can have a near-crash and psych myself out without ever hitting dirt!! What Ken and all these guys deal with injury wise, only to come back and still hang it out there, is mind blowing to me. I don’t care what he’s dealing with. Cool to see him win and still competing with the injuries he’s dealt with!

Webb would be loving this, as soon as they have a close battle roczen will fade and fall back on all this as the reason why.

Imagine this scenario. His immune system was so beat down with the multiple surgeries and healing, that when he got back on the bike and started training his body rejected it. He continues to push through it with a big middle finger out and you clowns say he is making excuses, or he should keep his difficulties to himself. Everyone nut hugs on Cooper and his line selection and grit to get to the front. Well I can tell you while it is impressive. It is nothing compared to the grit Kenny has shown, and he embarrassed Cooper on Saturday

This!

But tbh, Roczen needs to up his grit during the last portion of the races. Webb eats him up the last few minutes in almost every race.

I did not think Webb looked better through the whoops. He looked ok. Going to be an exciting season for sure!

I guess if you think number of "followers" and "bank account" are the most important measures of success.

I'm of the opinion that people share far too much today. I personally don't care to know that much about anyone.

Yeah what he did in the 2016 outdoor series was next level. I rewatched some of it just the other day. The way he could slice through the field on the opening lap(s) is mind blowing. It seemed like he got excellent starts all season, but in reality he didn't often holeshot. He just passed guys so fast and got into the lead so quick that it seemed like he started that way. As a Tomac fan, that was a painful season. Roczen was on point and there was nothing anyone could do. Tomac did win Southwick and got the overall at Washougal, but they were hard earned.

I know, I know….it's hard when your boy doesn't win. Your body goes limp, your stomach is empty and hollow. Your head is just full of emotion and rage that can take you to dark places. The image of the checkered flag waving without your boy crossing it first is embedded in your mind and will not go away. It is well known that emotions have a way of overpowering facts. Before you make a knee jerk emotional post bagging on Kenny's victory speech about his gnarly December, please take a deep breath and keep in mind these simple FACTS:

Kenny holeshot his heat race and lead all 8 laps. Your boy _____ didn't.
Kenny holeshot the main and lead all 20 laps in dominating fashion. Your boy _____ didn't.
Kenny glided around the rough and technical Anaheim track and made it look easy. Your boy _____ didn't.
Kenny said he had a gnarly December. Your boy _____ didn't.
Kenny had a f#*king amazing night at Anaheim 1 on January 8th, 2022. Your boy ____ didn't.
