Whelp..... After helping a buddy dial in his new KTM 450FE with Powerband Racing cone valves and a Trax shock and of course my curiosity got the best of me and I had to ride it. Well, the new Trax shock is great. It stays up in the stroke instead of dropping too quickly like the stock shock does. It is night and day better than the stock shock which needs a serious revalve. I've practiced once and raced once since getting it and I love it. I highly recommend it.

All of these builds are beautiful and very motivating. I have a 22 on order and have started my parts accumulation. I know handlebars are the most subjective static part of a motorcycle but does anyone have any experience running renthal 827s? I'm 5'10" and have ran pro taper sx race bars on my last two KTMs. It looks as though most of your are running Evos, what bends?

Doesn’t look like they have released any of the Factory Edition or Rockstar editions yet! Hopefully we see a red “fun fun” edition soon!

Ya, I am big fan of the SX Race bend myself. Being 6’1”+ I run 5mm spacers, lower pegs and taller seat as well. Most comfortable cockpit I have ridden in years.

Some say they are very tall. They work well for me, I stand a lot.

I love the Pro Taper SX bend and if was you I'd stick with the Pro Taper bend that you're running. The devil you know so to speak :-)

Thanks.

So far the Ohlins have been great. Really plush and consistent. I love not having to check the air or bring a pump.

I’ve always loved the gold, been thinking about pulling the trigger on some for the yz250 but the kyb stuff is pretty good.

Have any of you guys mounted your hour meter on the tapped bosses directly behind the starter like the gp bikes?
And if so any issues with over heating the meter?

@Ethan454 - I have mine mounted in the same spot as the KTM's come stock - although what you have pictured is a cool spot.

Reviving this thread to discuss gear ratios. I noticed Keefer discusses stepping up to a 14/52 which seems crazy to me on a 450.

Curious what you others are running and what your thoughts are.

I'm running the 14/52 on my bike. I've had it like that for the past 5 months and it's been great. It allows me to use 3rd gear more on tight tracks.

Who did you order the graphics kit from?

My buddy runs 14/53 on his KTM, he talked me into 14/52 on my RMZ. It really frees up the chassis going to a 14 front sprocket.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen, went ahead with ordering a 14/52 setup for it. Looking forward to giving it a try once the snow is gone 👌

I rode again with the 14/52. It’s crazy how much calmer the bike feels when your at high RPMs, it has way less engine braking effect. I was skeptical at first considering I had to remove my case saver, but the HEP guys run the same setup.

It will be interesting for sure. The engine braking will be a change. A lot of hills at Spring Creek MX so hopefully it isn't a negative effect. Bit skeptical of the case saver removal but ought to be more diligent about chain inspection anyways.

MotoPro graphics by the look of the logo on the shroud. He does good work, but he's pretty busy

Would you mind elaborating on what you did to remove it? I am looking to pop the end cap off tomorrow and check it all out.

I’d also really really appreciate if anyone can print or connect me with someone who can the elusive Red Bull graphics. I just want the front fender honestly.
