Granted this is also my first steel frame bike, so take my opinion with a grain of salt...not my first set of air forks though. Rode Honda's first iteration, not a fan. Ridden the SFF-spring fork on the Suzuki's and they weren't bad, but I don't remember anything that really leapt out at me as "wow this fork works well"
Biggest thing with the GasGas so far is how straight it tracks....I swear I could hit any square edge bump and this bike will just drive right through it with a stable and predictable reaction.
Don't want to admit I maybe like the kool-aid that is the steel frame bikes....but 21 years on bikes and I don't remember the last time I had one that made these characteristics as identifiable.
Picked up the last 450 they had on the floor last week. Put 2 rides on it so far and I'm very impressed. It's a noticeable handling improvement over my '16 350. For now I'm leaving it almost entirely stock as I break it in. Got the map switch, bar risers (since I'm 6'3"), and got a heavier spring coming.

If so and I'm not seeing things, my Husky has done the same, one side has worn through and one side has worn through and I'm polishing up the steel with my pants now lol.
Seems pretty shitty given how long old YZ/CR frame paint/coating typically held up. I've noticed a lot of near new KTMs/Huskys already showing rust underneath or around the pegs or swingarm/linkage bolt holes, just seems like shoddy coating?
Suspension is breaking in well, and I won't lie I actually like these new WP forks quite a bit. They work really well, especially in the gnarly bumps and ruts that happen at Spring Creek. Of course setup is key as with any bike. I really notice how stable they are at speed. The bottoming resistance is surprisingly good as well.
I kind of like these Maxxis tires too. They have a lot of feeling zone when the tire starts to push whether it is front or rear....which makes them really predictable. I think my next set will be Pirelli's as that is my usual go to but we will see.
In the meantime, love the new setup moto67e, bike looks AWESOME!
