Kx and told them I’ll pay whatever they want for a set of the factory 450 team exhaust graphics and they told me it wasn’t for sell. I see why not that this bike came out.

Hey ML, whats the word on the street about the forks on the factory edition kx? Are they similar to kyb sss? Im curious because im thinkin of switchin from my 19 kx450 to a 22 yz450 or kx factory edition. I was blown away by the forks on my 21 yz250f.
I’d like to know more about the KYB’s as well. I wonder if they will need re-valved?

My 21 is the same way. You get used to it pretty quickly.

Buy a set of ARC Merlon levers. More comfortable shape for sure. I have no idea what they are made of, but if you manage to bend one, you can bend it back with your bare hands, and they are guaranteed against breaking. One of the greatest MX inventions ever.

They're made of memlon, hence their name - which is not merlon.

"MEMLON is the trademarked name for the material used in our composite levers. By the lever design it is strong enough to do the job yet resiliant enough to take severe abuse without damage. Check out the lever video that shows how you can bend the lever and bend it back without any signs that the lever was ever damaged. It took over $100,000 in developement and 28 different formulas to find the right material composition. Now through our hard work you can have a truly unbreakable lever on your bike. You will never have a lever problem again. Remember, IF YOU BEND IT, BEND IT BACK, and keep riding."

I haven't ridden it. Tracks are closed for the season in MN. It will be a winter project adding the stuff that I had on the 2019, getting the suspension done (anxious to hear what people think of it stock) and doing the motor (piston, cams, vortex).

Not the best pics, but gives you an idea of the intake porting. The manifold isn't fully matched, and there is still a bit of cleanup to do around the seats.

Are those pictures of the factory port job done on your 22 SR? If so, that is not very impressive work. Had I removed my head and sent it out and it came back looking like that I would be pretty upset. I hope it's just the pictures playing tricks on me.

Here is a bit of a better picture of the SR. Also, my 2019 stock and after it was cleaned up by Ward Performance. Sorry for the poor pic quality.

Just out of curiosity, if you just paid big bucks for a factory modified bike, why would you send it out to have everything redone prior to riding it? You might like what they did.

I like working on them as much as riding. It is cheaper than therapy. I had the stuff from my 19 and I knew I would not get money for it if I sold the 19 with everything on it. Also, I go through new bikes given how they come with the factory without grease in the linkage, etc. and bolts are inconsistently torqued from dealer setup.
