Harley spinning out their electric brand to focus on new styles and electric power train tech. Although the closest this article gets to dirt is a mention of flattrack, it would be awesome if this opens the door for an electric motocross line. Maybe Stacyc and Pan America lines start giving them more exposure to the dirt world and LivWire isn't held to the HD legacy of not being in motocross.
Dreaming here but it would be cool if an American company led the charge into electric moto like Alta tried to do.

The Alta EXR is the most amazing bike I've ridden. I'm sure the Harley technology is awesome and I'm glad it exists- but I will never buy a Harley.

Alta may have been a great bike and had all the potential in the world, but they were a victim of bad management and an industry that really didn't want them upsetting the applecart.

The FLY FREE SMART Series is the world's most classically designed electric motorcycle that's visually spot on, fun to ride and a clear winner for urban commuting. It was envisioned by childhood friends, who loved racing & took part in enduro and motocross.
Since 2016 the team prototyped their way to reinventing and handcrafting 3 motorcycles from the 50s: The Scrambler, Brat and Cafe Racer, wanting to give riders a great looking motorcycle that was a joy to handle and gas free.
From what I can gather, Kymco Taiwan is being leveraged to aid with engineering and manufacturing of the new model, HD will use its existing network of dealerships for sales and service. So in all reality, the bike being marketed here is a KYMCO, badged as a new brand known as LiveWire.
HD owns ~70% controlling share interest in the LiveWire brand, which will trade on the NYSE under LVW.
What’s interesting is that Kymco has a massive range of motorcycle models including off road motorcycles and ATVs. I could easily see where HD taps into the Kymco model lineup, re-designs them for EV powertrains, and then imports them to add to the LiveWire model lineup.
By the way the HD Pan America is an amazing motorcycle and has merit with its design and performance but is not in the sport performance adv category. Its a boat like HD usual. Too most of us dirtbikers it is undesirable if you are thinking you want a big street legal dirtbike.
Basically, a completely Bastard Act, but, entirely legal, and very easy for a large company, to do to a smaller one.
