Anyone else see this on IG?
Anyone got an update on the guy who got hit by Mike?
Looked like a gnarly one. Hoping for good news.

I think Mike’s only value to add to the situation would be potentially using his bike as a barricade, but that would put himself in harms way. IMO him leaving the scene while the riding/racing continuing is a non issue here.
I heard (2nd hand) that the guy rolling was from the prior moto, supposedly 45 Novice? This may or may not be accurate. Either way, pros came around quick and the guy rolling crossed in front of Mike.
0% Mike's fault. Mike also isn't an EMT so everyone getting out the pitchforks on the socials can fuck right off. If I were him I would have been pissed at first... Then concerned after the race. Mike did check on the guy later.
Hope both riders are unharmed.
Mike gets a lot of smack, but I've met him numerous times and he's one of the nicest guys out there.
Starts are done this way very commonly for all local racing, but I 100% agree that extra precaution/waiting should take place prior to pro motos. This situation also has nothing to do with how the pro nationals are ran.
Either way it's just an unfortunate accident.
Last weekend when I got freaking taken out in practice, after practice, Mike stopped at the Med cart to see how I was doing and it wasn't even his fault. Even, the guy (ex pro himself) who took me out found me an apologized and it wasn't his fault either. I got squirrelly in a roller section and drifted left and he hit me. No one's fault, shit happens.
Pro's give more shits about amateurs on the track then given credit for.
Pit Row
How many riders have died at Glen Helen over the past 30 years? Offhand, I can think of at least 7-8, probably a few more.
The guy slowed down over the table finish, alessi couldnt see he drastically slowed down. Mike also was beat up,and sore but came from 5th to,first on the staggered restart
The older guy got taken away with temporary paralysis, I was told he got feeling and movement back.
The turnout was pretty huge, they were trying to get the races done a little quicker but each race shoulda hate their own motos. Which they did get for 2nd motos.
Post a reply to: Mike alessi crash today?
