Just so we’re clear, you better be talking about Coldenhoff. This is a MxDN event after all!

I think we will do great

Personally, my picks would have been Wright, McNabb, and Pettis. I think Ryder has more speed than Piccolo.

Really sucks that Pettis got hurt.

That said, it's not a bad team and I don't see a problem getting in the the top 10.

I'm looking forward to see what Wright can do in the in the team races and individual race. The 109 might impress a few people.

Let's go Team Canada 🇨🇦

Could Wright potentially have a more impressive ride than Benoit a few years ago? Was that also Italy?

In my honest opinion, absolutely. Just needs a start.

Benoit was in Italy 2016.

I’m looking forward to it regardless, always an event where just about anything can happen, and does.
Exactly, I mean Canada can send a team we have NO excuses. And to use covid is like saying my dog eat my homework.

He killed it at both events.

I’m expecting him to kill it again this weekend. A surprise, but not really a surprise.

I bet he won't. In 2018 and 2019 he was racing for GP wins and podiums in the 2-3 weeks prior to the Nations - even on hardpack like Turkey he was giving Herlings a proper battle for the win, so he was in great shape already ahead of the event. This year, he's struggling to get top 5s on sand tracks.

All these countries and America couldn't even be bothered to turn up. Sucks for you then

I'm wondering how many will go to watch the race at the track given the € 150 ticket.
I gave up for this as I think it is way too much if compared to the regular € 60/70 for a normal MXGP race.

I think it was 120 eur back in 2009 when I went to Franciacorta.

Podium at least for GB? They have a decent shot at it but barring extremely unfortunate circumstances I can't see them beating Italy or The Netherlands, and I'd put them on about the same level as France, maybe higher because the track probably suits their riders better.

Cairoli probably won't be at his best, neither are Coldenhoff and Van de Moosdijk lately. Paturel and Boisramé just ain't good enough at the moment to take it home for France.

It will depend on Watson's starts, if Mewse can stay on two wheels and if Simpson can perform at least one good result. That's why I think they're the dark horses for victory more than France. But theoretically, they're racing for 3rd place, indeed.

Coldenhoff pretty much only goes beast mode at this event. He’s a 7-10th place rider almost every other part of the season.
Erm, no, he's not...

End of season 2019:
8/4, GP of Lommel: 3-3, 3rd overall
8/18, GP of Imola: 1-1, 1st overall
8/25, GP of Sweden: 1-2, 1st overall
9/8: GP of Turkey: 3-2, 2nd overall
9/15: GP of China: 1-2, 2nd overall
Championship final standings: 3rd

9/29: MXoN Assen: winner of races MX2 + Open and MXGP + Open, overall winner Open class, overall winner Team Netherlands

So, he was in great shape already ahead of the event. This year, he clearly isn't. He asked Herlings himself if they could switch classes so he could get some more rest between the races on Sunday. That's not a rider in his best shape talking.

The Netherlands look the best bet. As for GB, if they manage a podium then that'll be a fine result. Not the same without team USA and Australia though (and these overall weird times we're going through) but I'm still excited just due to the magic nature of this event generally. Outside of GB winning it then I agree with others in that it'd be very cool to see Italy and Tony especially get the top spot after all the yrs of effort. That's who I'll otherwise be cheering for.

I obviously missed the news, what happened to team Porto Rico? They seemed pretty motivated.

They really wanted to go (the riders), but when Team USA checked out for whatever reason, they had no other option as to bail out aswell, saving USA some more backlash for not making the trip.

I don't remember exactly what the case was but vurbmoto was funding them but then they couldn't go because of travel restrictions or something

Vax unvax it shouldn’t matter at this point. Look at the Ryder cup in golf. Full of fans and both teams. And we can’t send 3 guys to Italy!? It’s the most important sporting event of the year in my opinion. Sorry for the rant. I’ll be back for redbud round ✌🏼
