Good question. I asked about it when the 2021 models were announced and Cobra said the following:

It's on its way...The decision was made to push the new CX65 our first...Then the eMOTO. Lots of development (and chip hoarding) going on...

Technically, you can pre-order one through a dealer now, however, our open order period for this model will not happen until later in the year...I'd wait until then when we have allocations determined.

I don’t know what would be involved with doing this but if someone made an electric 50 that you could change the batteries out quickly so the kids could keep riding, I believe there wouldn’t be a single down side to that bike. No need for a gas one for me. My son rides for hours at a time and the Ktm 20 min run time doesn’t cut it. And it’s 20 min to change the battery

Cobra battery can be changed quicker then you can fuel it.

And even if the battery was expensive it wouldn’t matter because any dad that has a kid racing 50s knows that it’s more expensive then any size bike made. Dropping 1000 like it’s nothing on these 50s

Sounded like a 4 stroke. Was that the bike in the front?

You could hear a CRF50 (probably a 106cc bike).

My son raced a local race a few weekends ago in the 50 open class. He ended up pushing the e5 up the finish line hill. It ran out of juice. The bike was fully charged too. Sand and hills are brutal on the battery life.

Was he racing the KTM E5? If we can ever get the run time figured out it would be great. I accidentally ran a Tesla X so low that it took 24 hours to get it to half. Sucked

That is why I don't get why people are so scared of the Edirtbikes. They have a lot of distance to cover before they will be the predominate bikes at any track. By the time that happens, the battery situation will of been figured out or the gas bikes will still be dominate.

This,

We are looking at another 10-15, maybe 20 years of gas bikes before full size electric bikes take hold.
