Dunno what you guys would call her but we call her a Red Cattle Dog or Red Heeler.. Super smart super loyal and tougher than wood pecker lips

I've wanted one ever since I was a kid.. I've since done research into them and I dunno if you know but they were bred back in the day when the English first came over and the dogs they brought would struggle in the conditions over here so they bred them with the Dingo (that obviously doesn't struggle with the conditions here) and hey presto one of the better working dogs in the world was bred.. Also not sure if yours does lots of 'whining' or 'talking' but that's a Dingo trait
The Red Heeler is the Dingo coming out. Blues are a lot more common. They’re awesome pets, fearless friends. I miss my Gus so much. I’ll get another, it’s just too soon.

Oh I didn't know you'd recently lost one.. Man I'm sorry! There's not much worse than losing a dog..

Yeah the red and Dingo is a more obvious link but I actually had to google this morning how they got the blue colour and apparently it's a trick of the light where the white and black hairs mingle together..

Never seen it before now. 1973 was a little before my time haha. Im obviously biased, and there are many good looking dogs, but there is none as elegant and beautiful as a docked and cropped, black and rust doberman. They have power, speed, and athleticism, along with ultra alert and fearless but not agressive. Gentle with kids, sensitive to your feelings, loving lap dogs if you let them. Easy to train with intelligence that will surprise you. We are on our third one and each time we talk about another breed but ultimately get another doberman because they just seem so perfect.... to us anyways.

These were our last 2 boys, Toby (gray) and Petey (pup) but they are both gone now. Miss them very much, but are enjoying our new female equally as much. Dogs are great in so many ways! "Most dogs are better than most people, and if you dont believe that you dont know many of either"

Love this thread, here are my two! Border collies - one tri colour and one chocolate merle. They’re basically on the loud pedal all day but they’re absolutely lovely pups!

Brought home a little Shepard this weekend. Dad is a white german shepard and mom is reverse masked shepherd. Could have got papers for it but she will just be a family pet. She is driving my aussie nuts tho, never thought I would see another dog with more energy.

Is it just me or is Toby saying,"We want cheesburgers!" and the pup is nodding in agreement?

Since cones came up, the vet charged me 62 bucks for this damn thing. He got an infection on his nuts. They swelled up bigger then a big mans fist.

Dogs are amazing, Chowder is laying on the bottom half of my busted leg but laid on it easy he didn’t bother it. He knows to stay off the thigh somehow. He usually stays within 5 or 6 feet of me Cool

Thanks! I actually didn’t like it when I got him but it grew on me quickly. He was actually a rescue! Poor guy had bald spots everywhere, tail was bald, he lived under a mini ramp and was never played with in some assholes backyard. He’s 6 now, got him when he was 1, Now he’s the happiest dog you’ll meet haha
