After seeing the graphic in the TV coverage, you realize how simple it would be to create a different, separate award for the Overall standings of the SX and MX series combined. I'd assume it's only because the 2 parties don't cooperate with one another's naming rights? Props to Peacock for putting that on the program. Pretty obvious MX Sports isn't the one with the problem.

Multi-million dollar purse? Theres never been a multi-million dollar purse in this sport but its gonna start with this?

Yeah, it can be done but it will probably end up like a constructors championship or the triple crown champion, with a plaque and a line in the history books and not much else.

Isn't there a 100k Championship award from Feld for Supercross? Doesn't 2nd get 40k and 3rd 25k?

We have far greater problems to fix than this. Let’s start with 25 out of 40 riders getting lapped in the “premier” class. After that lets teach the NBC film crew how cool our sport looks from the ground not from a satellite view. Never going to happen I know.

I was gonna make a thread about this, I did as well. We see it on the MX race on Saturday and on Monday we get an email about this from Supercross. The timing of this is pretty crazy.

Overall championship would be awesome and I vote yes. Shows who can put together a full year with all the adversity that each series has.

Demonstrate how this concept would deliver new revenue/profits to the series promoters and it takes on a life of its own. Until then, it’s largely just a talking point.
