Not sounding too promising regarding this upcoming weekends event, let’s hope they can get things sorted to appease the local government regulations.

I was really looking forward to the different facility this weekend. Fingers crossed they can still get approval. If they don't I feel bad for the teams & riders that have already paid travel expense to be at the cancelled GP.

I find it hard to understand the inconsistencies with events, 4K at the britMxGP, 1k ItalianMxGP, football euros 60k, tennis full??🤔

not as long as people need to get tested to go to a event or festival .. more people allowed at a event , means more people get tested means more postive tests .. even vaccinated people can test positive , so not much has changed

F1 and GP most likely wont happen , again

South Africa has headed back into the nasty part of lock down again. We are back at level 4. Most shit shut down including no alcohol again.

As you guys may be aware, I'm three days out of Covid and honestly I'm terrified of contracting it again, so ill pump the tv remote and put hours on the PS4. I'm happy to be alive and will be content to ride out this storm at home....

I'm in the Netherlands right now. No restrictions so far that I can see. Went to Roterdam yesterday- no masks, nothing. Literary no one is social distancing.
Belgium was masks and social distancing in every store, public indoor place.

I think it's fair to say that everyone here is pretty over it. It's been here for too long already, nobody gives a shit about it anymore.
Yes, there are a lot of covid cases here lately but it's mostly young people who rarely get ill from it. All the old and vulnerable people are already vaccinated.

I’ve also always wondered why when they do the back to back GPs one will be the MXGP of “kegums” then the next is the MXGP of “Latvia” why is that? I get that one is the town and the other is the country, but is it like a revenue thing where the country “sponsors” one round then the city the next and vice versa?
I think it's likely more just a simple naming thing, so the published calendar looks like unique events and not a bunch of repeats like Latvia 1, 2, 3. However, we do know MXGP/InFront often gets paid by multiple levels on government when they come to town so maybe in turn there are some naming concessions made.

The reason there are 'inconsistencies' is because some countries are doing great, and other not so much.

I live in the Netherlands, 5 mile from the German border.
Germany has 83 million people and they had 800 new covid cases on monday.
The Netherlands has 17 million people and we had 9.000 new covid cases on monday.

For MXGP i think it is indeed just a simple naming thing.
In the past for F1 when Bernie was still in play i think it really was a money grab for them. He sold the rights to the German GP to the Hockenheimring as 'you are the sole German GP' and then sold the European GP to Nurnburgring (also Germany). Same for Imola (San Marino) and Monza (Italy). At least that is how i recall it

yeah thats great news , hope the F1 in Zandvoort later will do the same

The spectators are given a fixed seat along the track to be able to watch the spectacle; the organization of MXGP Oss provides enough chairs.

smart thinking within the current rules , lot of peole wont like it but i quess it was this or no GP

I think the original plan was to use these events as 'tests' before lockdown properly ends but with the way things of gone it seems like everything is back to normal anyway. Been a minute since I was in a nightclub I will admit, so not too worried if they stay closed...
