Do you realize that you single handedly turn people away from actually wanting to buy a beta?
Do you realize you are waiting on a change to a group of bikes that hasn't been changed in 15 years?
In the last 8 years Beta has released a 300, 250, 200 and 125 all with modern designs. TM has updated their lineup with fuel injection, e-start and counterbalancers. Sherco has created a 300, 250 and 125. Reiju (former Gas Gas) has a 300 and a 250.

This thread title is dead wrong that only Yamaha is left. I'm glad for the Yamaha and 2-stroke lovers that something new is coming. Some owner's will never consider a boutique brand (like KTM used to be) and that's OK. You speak with your wallet and other's will do the same. Sorry the Beta's were sold out when you were looking.

I can't believe they STILL haven't switched to the current 4-stroke swingarm and rear wheel.
Still using the 2004 spec stuff on the 2-strokes.

New cylinder, new pipe at least.

If you're out here calling BNG you've got a personal issue with Yamaha, you want it to just be BNG for some reason.

Powerful New YZ125 Engine
A completely redesigned liquid-cooled 125cc two-stroke engine boasts increases to mid- and top-end power over the 2021 model.
New Brake System
To match increased engine performance, an updated lightweight braking system features larger front pistons, a more rigid caliper, a redesigned 270mm front rotor with a 30% increase in pad contact area and higher friction pad material, all combining to provide exceptional braking power and feel. The redesigned rear rotor maintains the same braking power while dropping outer diameter from 245mm to 240mm, further reducing unsprung weight with no compromise on performance.
Improved Rider Ergonomics
A new flatter seat and more narrow fuel tank design, along with smoothly integrated body panels and slimmer shroud width combine to enable greater freedom of movement forward and back, allowing the rider to easily shift body weight for increased control and confidence.
Revised Suspension Damping
Taking the YZ125's class-defining suspension and handling characteristics to a new level, front and rear suspension has been revised to further improve bump absorption and cornering performance. KYB® inverted front fork now includes a leaf spring in the mid-speed valve for increased performance and comfort.
Improved Fueling
New high-precision Hitachi Astemo® Keihin PWK38S carburetor features a power jet, throttle position sensor and 3D-map-controlled CDI unit for precise ignition timing. The result is clean, crisp throttle response, superior rideability and excellent over-rev character.
New Air Intake Design
Updated intake design allows for a straighter, more efficient draw of air into the intake tract.
New, Modern YZ Styling
Slimmer, more aggressive bodywork including new front and rear fender design, slimmer body panels and new radiator shrouds all integrate with a bold new graphics scheme to highlight the YZ's unmatched racing pedigree. Premium Yamaha Blue and dark blue graphics are now embedded to provide excellent durability and scratch resistance.

In all seriousness why would they make a major change to the 450 and 250f when they are already winning shootouts, loved by average joes and winning at the top level. its exciting to see new bikes but dont fix whats not broken

Powerful New YZ125 Engine
The new YZ125's two-stroke engine represents an increase in power and usability over the 2021 model. Nearly every functional part of the engine is new—from the cylinder body, cylinder head, piston, piston pin, connecting rod, crankcase and expansion chamber, to a revised cylinder port shape and updated cylinder port timing. It's a change that is immediately apparent at the first crack of the throttle and throughout the entire rpm range.
New Air Intake Design
Updated intake design allows for a straighter, more efficient draw of air into the intake tract.
Yamaha Power Valve System
Patented YPVS™ combines crisp, hard-hitting bottom-end acceleration with strong mid-range and top-end.
Close-Ratio Transmission
Revised six-speed, close-ratio transmission has wider transmission gear tooth width and new, optimized gear ratios for maximum performance.
Digital Ignition
Digital CDI system delivers precise spark and monitors engine speed to ensure optimal timing for faster, stronger response during hard acceleration.
High-Capacity Radiator
Large-capacity radiator features a 10-row core with blacked-out louvers to deliver an aggressive look and maximum cooling efficiency.

Cool updates on the 125, a lot more then I initially thought. The 450 still needs to get the de-pig treatment

So the 250 2t isn't dropped yet? (edit, same updates as the 125) The price point on the 125 is awesome. For those saying there was no spy photo's, the bike has been in plain view as a Fantic, kicking 4t ass in Europe. Since we will likely never see Fantic's distributed in the U.S. this is a great thing.

It has.

Same body work, seat, brakes, intake and suspension updates as the 125.

Not true, 2021 Fantic did not have the new motor which is the primary update. The new 125 does take a lot of bodywork styling from it though.

Very awesome to see some big updates to the 125! The new bodywork on both 2 strokes looks sweet and I'll be upgrading my 250 to that look as soon as it is available.

As far as performance, looks like the 250 just got the newer/better front brake the 4 strokes have, which is good because the old unit was pretty bad.

This is great and just hope the 250 sees some big updates next year. Seems like they are on that course!

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that fantic was making modifications to the motor while using the original castings. Which is what appears exactly what the new 22 yz is doing.

Not a bad thing if true.

Looks like Yamaha is serious about strengthening the bridge from 65-85-125-250F-450f lifecycle planning on their brand. YZ250 is really not in that path so I can see them delaying (forever) 250 updates if good but not great reaction to 125. If 125 are sold out for year in 1 month, exciting times are ahead for two stroke Taliban and Yamaha.

Not sure we really know that yet? Fantic may have been running these "new" engines. There are no details as to what "new" means AFAIK.

Yamaha will sell every one of these...especially as the only Japanese manufacturer still making 2 strokes, AND actually sticking money into updating them. Hopefully, this is a path to showing the other manufacturers that 2 strokes are still wanted.

I don't think so, I was looking at Fantic and Yamaha emx125 photos for cylinder changes like we can see on the new bikes and didn't see them.

‘22 YZ125 gained 4lbs.

2lb increase listed wet weight, but also lost .3 gallons (about 2lbs) of fuel.
