It would freak me the hell out if I couldn't see oil in that thing, but apparently people add the 1000cc and go with it...I'll go by the sight glass for piece of mind I guess. Have since the 90's when I was in elementary school lmao
Back in the dark ages when the forefather of the 21 KX250 engine was really a Suzuki I'm guessing it held 1000 cc of oil, at least my 07 Suzuki did, the first year after the motors started drifting apart in design. The latest Suzuki version of this engine holds 1100 cc.. If you compare the current Kawi and Suzuki versions of that original common engine they still look quite similar. Likely why people are getting away with running less oil than specified.

Ha my other bike doesn't have a glass I do 1300 (manual states 1250) on a 05 rmz450. Never had an issue.

I thought I was making an interesting comment as to why I thought my oil level wasn't to my expectations after the first oil change. I believe I would have been fine. The whole ordeal was I put in 1000cc and it was a the low line in the sight glass. Thought it was odd so I added another 100-200 to make it fuller in the sight glass. You're right, go by the manual and not be so OCD like myself. It's my baby and I don't want anything to go wrong because I was slightly low on oil. It's my first brand new bike so you bet I'm going to be insane. It's like a first born over here. Next time I'll measure it out exact and let it sit overnight to see where it ends up.

An extra 250 sounds like a lot and not filling the oil filter sounds like a bad idea.

You should take it off the stand and see where the level goes on the sight glass. I believe on the stand the bike is rear high in most cases. I always would take mine off the stand in a garage or ground that is level and hold the bars with one hand until I felt it hit its balance point left to right and then check it.

It was at like 75% last night when I checked we good lol. Although I ordered air filters months ago and still haven't got them. I washed the stock one twice now and just put in a disposable pro-filter I ordered back in March. I need mu twin-airs soooon

Bought saturday a 21 kxf 250.
29 hours, used by a 50yo friend. Used it yesterday.
The bike is awesome. Coming off a 19 SX 250.
Forks are great but they feels too soft... 63kg with gears A class rider.

The airbox is pretty shitty, hard to work on.

I've heard of some people having problems with clutches

I used it once and a lot of people are telling me that this bike has a lot of problems.
Clutch and camshafts. Is it true or just trying to make owners panicking?

I think at this point if anyone finds out of one issue on the bike rather it was owner inflected or not people are taking it and running like wild fire. Hard to believe a company like Kawasaki would produce something with so many issues. Got to remember the engine in the 20 and 21 are pretty much the same

Picked up my 21 Kx250f a month ago. 50 year old B rider Harescrambles. Bike is by far the smoothest bike I’ve owned. Installed the new yoshimura RS 12 and this bike pulls thru the single tracks of New England. Suspension is to stiff, 150lb rider but I just boxed up my forks and shock and mailing them out to FC in the morning. I ordered my Rekluse radius cx auto clutch a week ago and can’t wait to get it on the bike. I need to pick up some new wheels cause I need a 18” rear for the woods. Anyone have any recommendations on a brand of wheels ?

64 year old mx rider here. 153 lbs.
Just got my suspension back from FC last week and tried it out Sunday. Wow, what a difference.

You'll love it.

Nice ride! If you are after an 18" rear you could always grab OE from the KX250X. That's a safe bet. Here is the part number 41093-0011-WC. Let us know how the Factory Connection suspension turns out.

Good idea with the black/gold number plates that looks sick! It's funny if you're 150 its way too hard if you're 200lbs they are way too soft. Most people must be between there and it's been great for them. Way too soft up front for my chubby self lol

I looked it up and it costs $701.92 with shipping. I think I might be better off with some nice talon wheels. Complete set for $924.00 or the dubya budget wheels are $594.00. But thanks for the info !

I have a slightly used OEM 18" (about an hour on the wheel) with a used 240mm rotor and new 52t sprocket on it. $450.

Any 21 KX250 Bro's have the PC muffler that are not using their Spark Arrestor insert? My riding requires one and mine came out yesterday at a ride and was lost.

If any of you have one, I'd be happy to buy it.

Just got the letter in the mail for the "right side engine case" recall. Said the cover will be larger to accommodate for more oil and more cooling power. I thought I smelled some clutch burn the other day. Hopefully this does away with that. Will be looking for new clutch plates soon...

Got mine letter too... I have probably 40 hours on mine. Thought I noticed a little clutch slippage last weekend at a rough enduro. Looked into the Rekluse Torq Drive Manual but almost $1k for a manual clutch is steep!

40 hours on the stock plates? That's pretty re-assuring though (that they aren't complete garbage) especially since you said you were doing enduro's.
