After taking all this data and feedback into consideration we feel the game just isn't quite at its full potential yet. We know we can do better. We don't have a release date yet. We are taking our time to make sure that MSM3 is the best game we can possibly make and that it will live up to all of our player's expectations.
Once we get closer to launch we will open up more beta testing slots as well as share information on release date. We just wanted to update all of our players and let them know we are still hard at work on making the best mobile motocross game ever!
Keep up the great work.
Starting Monday, September 21 we will have a week-long vurbmoto Flash Jam event. 7 tracks, 7 days, 7 in-game prizes you can win! We are also releasing bike 13 on the same day. Bike 13 is our take on a 500cc 2-stroke (however we didn't change the sound, that will come in MSM3). Bike 13 as always can be earned for free. We partnered with Hallman (Thor's retro gear line) and will have some in-game replica Hallman stuff. It's going to be a fun event and the first time we are having one day Jam rounds! I'm really excited about it.
While the event is going on we will be giving away a ton of IRL prizes on social media. Stay tuned to any of our social accounts or vurbmoto for details!
That will be the first of a couple of big updates we have planned.
So if you've put MSM2 down for a bit now might be the time to pick it back up again.
3D sounds fun and all - but is it going to have a 6+ years of lasting power like MSM2?
Ehhhhhh. Maybe.
We haven't added rider animations (yet). I think at some point we will at least test them out and see what players think. We are very careful not to add things that could change the gameplay and physics in a negative way.
MSM3 has way more customization than MSM2. You can change up and customize different parts of the bike and rider instead of only full kits. We alread have some IRL brands lined up as well.
I think the MSM3 environments feel more realistic (and the physics). The art itself is not realistic but I love the art style. It is a bit cartoony-ish, but we have always been that way. We always have tried so mix arcade with a bit of realism.
Free replays? I'm guessing you mean being able to watch replays in Jam? In MSM3 you can watch any LB replay. No need for premium.
Don't be scared of the 3D aspect. It isn't really much different than what you're used to. It just gives us way more flexability when it comes to rider and bike customization. Easier to offer more options to customize when it is a 3D model and not just a 2D sprite. It's still a side scroller and feels the same. We did change up the camera angle a tiny bit, but it lets you see more of the upcoming track so I prefer it. But it does take some getting used to. It is maybe just a couple defrees more than MSM2.
Other than that the reasons we wanted a new game and not just updates to MSM2 was to add new modes and features like teams, a ranked competitive Versus mode, a more robust live ops Events mode, and eventually a Mad Skills Motocross League that will be our version of a competitive points paying series, similar to IRL.
Mad Skills Motocross is more than just a game to us. It's become a part of motocross. There aren't many motocross fans who haven't at least tried Mad Skills MX. So belive me we are working our asses off to make sure MSM3 is the best it possibly can be. The last thing we want to do is let down the MX community. You guys are #1 to us and always will be.
What do you mean that it feels similar to BMX? In what way?
Like I said before, I REALLY want to love the new version, and things like the new versus and customization I do. I just think the speed/bike reaction could benefit by being more like MSM2.
Pit Row
It is hard to go from bike 12 on MSM2 to bike 1 on MSM3. Feels WAY different. But eventually, once we release bike 10 on MSM3 I think you'll feel right at home!

Also - is it true we have to start over with beginning on old bikes.
and we loose what we earned or paid for?
Nothing from MSM2 will carry over to MSM3. It is a totally new game and the items are not compatible. We do however have a free Fly kit for anyone who signs in with a MSM2 account on MSM3.
