Well, they did announce a revamp of the 125! Unfortunately it was the Zuma, but at least they have a bike you can ride in a mini skirt without looking like a complete slut.

I’m amazed that Yamaha can’t figure out that this looks much better than the stupid black

I agree, but I think it’s Monster and not Yamaha dictating how much black is on the bikes.

Oh I understand. The euro emissions crushed (stopped) sales of those bikes there and sales here aren't great. For better or worse, the R6 is really a track bike. Or sporty rides of less than an hour.
But I’m not sure the R7 will really be a better bike for the street. Still uncomfortable, just slow and poorly suspended. Honestly, the R7 is just a cheap imitation of a performance bike. But i guess thats what people want. Thats the part I find sad.
From what I understand, the 600s day was coming for a while now. It is very hard to pass newer emissions standards with a high-revving i4 bike that needs to be wide-open to make it's power. That's why Honda, Yam etc never really put much serious effort into updating those bikes for a long while. So a couple years ago when Yamaha dropped Factory support for the 600s, the writing was on the wall. Plus, a lot of the 600 market that used to be noobs got sliced away when there are better beginner-friendly machines (R3, Ninja 250,300,400 etc) on the market now (that weren't there in 06ish.) So it's unfortunate but I can understand why. The R7 is certainly not going to be a better track bike than an R6 but I think it will make a better street bike, for most people just having the linear, torquey feel of the twin. I have an R6 also and I will probably never sell it, but the R7 is a nice looking bike, for what it is.

Odd, the only thing that makes sense because CDR is also sponsored by Monster is the dollar amount to dictate the color. Still lame

Why not just forget Japan and reward the Euro companies who are actually building what you want??
They want YZ's and no European companies produce those.

Last I checked the production models are still blue...unless you choose the black option.
