Utah Moto

Anyone around the forum from southern Utah? I just moved the family out to Beaver, Utah ( 35 min north of cedar city). Any good riding around the area? Any tracks?

You've got Iron Mine Race Park in Cedar City and Bunkerhill MX in Delta. There used to be a track just south of Beaver on the west side of the highway. You can still see the track under the billboards that line the highway.

Mesquite MX park in Littlefield AZ. Only about 2 hours away. If your into mountain bikes and winter sports Brain Head is a great little resort about 20 minutes from Parowan

If you’re into off road, Warner valley east of st george and Cherry Creek and Jericho North of Delta have a million miles of trails...and the Little Sahara sand dunes are right there as well.

I work out of the Vegas area and work a fire fighter type schedule. I hate Vegas and was looking for small town feel with land. Found it in beaver. Was able to build my kids a pit bike/mini track. Now that my son is getting better I want to introduce him to the bigger tracks but I only knew of mesquite and the new track out in white hills, AZ.

Mountain West Mx is in Mona, Utah. That’s about an hour and 45 mins north from you. I heard a few months ago that a new track was being built in Parowan too.

Metzger recently moved to the area and does bike tours of trails if that is of any interest to you. It’s red rock and beautiful. There’s a lot of open spaces to ride but I’ve never lived close enough to ride any of the tracks down there so I can’t speak on that.

That whole Fillmore Beaver area is real nice! I second Warner Valley it has an unlimited supply of riding and a pretty good hidden mx track. St.George mx, toquerville falls has some really fun single track, coral pinks and sand hollow for dunes. I'm not a fan of the dunes but there are some really fun trails around the outsides of both of them. Lots of great places for playing in the rocks above the sand dunes at sand hollow. Utah is tough to beat for riding.

Funny you mention the rodeo champ. Those brothers (the wright brothers?) are my neighbors. Since we are new to the area we are about to go bring sweets to everyone and introduce ourselves.

We bought 5 acres in Beaver 17 years ago, haven’t done anything with it, but love it there.

That wasn’t a knock on Beaver...I think about moving there every time I drive through....It just seems like an obscure place for someone from out of state to move is all.

That’s what I bought as well. 6 bed 3 bath on 5 acres for 380k. In Vegas that gets me a 2 or 3 bed, 1.5 bath and a bunch of liberals.

Thanks for all of the info guys. I really appreciate it. I know I can find this stuff on Google but I like hearing personal accounts and opinions that go with a link.

Then we are “neighbors”...I’ve been in Lehi since 2005...I think about Moving to Saratoga Springs just for access to the public land out of my garage. Lots of good riding out there.

We bought a place in 2014, don’t spend enough time in Saratoga Springs. Still stuck in Las Vegas. Lots of riding from my garage, but it is disappearing fast.

I’m jealous! The off-road riding in Utah looks amazing. Ca is dry and dusty except when we get rain once a year. Mow the rzrs are out tearing up single track trails 😡

If you wanting to get your kids into Motocross you need to check out https://www.rmxseries.net/ they have a race in Delta this coming weekend. The promoters that run RMX are world class and have a summer series going through out Utah and southern Idaho and a kids only stadium cross series all summer in Tooele.
On a side note Utah is full everyone else Move some where else.

I second what the great DH873 said! Check out the RMX Series, best run races in the country, great competition, exceptional track prep and more laps than any other series. There's lots of Moto in Utah if you're willing to drive. Beaver is pretty central, you'll head north all spring and summer then south all winter.

I will definitely look into that. I just bought him a 2014 KX85 from Carter powersports in Las Vegas.. it seized up after 10 minutes of riding it so I’m currently rebuilding it. Once it’s done I’ll get him out to the tracks. He’s just been ripping around on my KLX 110L until it’s finished.

It's a rain forest compared to Las Vegas.
