Hey guys, could use some expert advise.
Bought a good used and repaired cylinder for my 150, and noticed a crack through the power valve void. This is in the exhaust side, and had been nikasil'd over.
Would anyone have objections to putting this on a bike in current condition?
Will that crack spread with additional heat cycles?
Will that crack eventually crack the layer of nikasil that is covering it and catch a ring?
Would that crack eventually get to the exhaust port or water jacket and cause an air or water leak?

Drill a 3mm hole at the end of that crack to stop it propagating and run it and check it.
I would say failure will be slow not catastrophic if at all.
It's less than $900 for piston, cylinder valves and everything.... no way you could buy all those parts for that cost individually
I can see the issue, but I can't see it actually growing.
