Gripper seat cleaning tips?

Edited Date/Time 5/7/2021 5:29pm
Does anyone have any tips on getting black marks off them rough gripper seats?

Anyone have a 2021 CRF450 and have trouble getting stains off their seat? I’d imagine these type of seats are on the 250s as well?

If you look at Ryan Hughes videos with riding tips in this bike, his seat has stains as well.

I’ve tried Muc-off and some generic cleaner like muc-off which usually cleans up the seats I’ve had in the past quite nice but it won’t touch these stains/marks. Would petrol/gas damage the seat cover?

This is the best picture I could get as it doesn’t show up very clear on the pictures. It looks worse in natural lighting outside and there’s a few of these all over the seat.

Thanks.

Magic eraser sponge works good for that. You can buy them at any grocery store.

Sponge with Ajax or “barkeepers friend” powder. Red scuff pad if it’s really stubborn.

I had some black marks on my newly installed 1-800 collect seat and used some rubbing alcohol i was using to clean my plastics before the graphics on the seat and seemed to work pretty well.

Laundry detergent in a spray bottle with water mixed and magic eraser as suggested.

Here at MotoSeat I use Simple green and a good scrub brush. If its hard to get out I will use a Magic eraser. Unfortunately with the stock Honda covers they do stain

I believe there is a guy in England that could take care of that.

Those are a bit of a bitch - Totally Awesome from the Dollar Store works a treat though for pretty much all cleaning. Way better than Simple Green. Spray on, let sit brush a bit and rinse gets our Honda seats pretty damn clean. The rest of the bike is spray on and wash off & looks great every time.......
