@Metris owners

- is the 126" long enough? Looking at available inventory I see more of the 126" around with the features I want.
- what would you do different on your Metris?
- what are your favorite mods?
- is a cargo version mandatory?
- anyone do a pop top?

Thanks!

126 is plenty. Like you I really wanted a 135 but found a good deal on the 126 and couldn’t pass it up. Having the 10-12 extra inches would be nice but I’ve never “needed” it. I’ve seen examples of hauling with the passenger but I would hate dragging the seats out every time. Mods are tough because there isn’t much aftermarket support for these vans in the states.

The only real negative of the van is the oem tires are JUNK and it burns through tires fairly quickly. Seems most of them aren’t aligned properly from the factory and I had one done under warranty and another done when I got new tires. We’re almost through two sets already and just a hair under 50k miles. Going to try Michelin defenders next but there aren’t a lot of tire choices because of the load rating. The price you pay for a van that handles and turns as tight as the Metris I guess. People complain about premature brake wear as well but we’re still on the originals. RWD has been an issue for me once at the track when the parking area was wet and the traction control is worthless. Luckily I got unstuck with my loading ramp; pretty embarrassing.

Overall it’s been a good vehicle for us between the MTB’s and dirt bikes. Folks are always amazed when I wheel a full size dirt bike out of it, let alone two. From the outside it doesn’t look like it should work but it does.

I want it for the same - both moto and MTB trips!

Glad to hear the 126 is enough. That opens up the options a bit...

Thanks for the pics! I wasn't sure if a passenger version would be large enough to fit a bike. Do you have to do anything weird or special to get clearance of the handlebars for loading?

Also, what is the wheel chock setup there? It looks like you have something pretty simple that just rests against your cooler? Is that the case?? And a plywood ramp? I like these low tech solutions!

Old cooler is for spare parts n gear with a wheel chock/stand spaced out with tie downs to rings behind seats. only need a 3' section of plywood for a ramp with low floor. Don't have to compress forks to load, ktm 450 with sx race bend bars.
Best moto van yet, fast, rides great and quiet, put on AMG rims n tires from an E63 fit great and turns like a car...

I'm rocking an nv200 and I love it. Perfect one man rig.

Took it 2500 miles to florida this winter at 27mpg with 2 450's.

That van is sweet. How are these holding up past 100k miles?

I have a Ram Promaster City. It’s pretty great for just me, little small for longer trips or taking a buddy, but can get two big bikes and gear in.

Make no mistake - it is tight.

I think the dodge version has more room. I got a good deal on this and I liked nissans warranty better.
