I hope the japs never go on a diet. I have added weight to downhill bikes before, it does not make them worse.

I go back and forth between a 200lb YZ125 and 235 lb yz250f, cant tell if one is lighter when the wheels are on the ground. You can feel difference in the air but really doesnt matter at all. You need a light bike if you want to throw butt whips I guess.

You must be absolutely high. A lighter bike will always accelerate and brake faster....because physics.

Even if they were, they are the lightest bikes out there and they're winning championships. KTM will continue to improve their bikes but only at the rate to stay ahead of the competition. Right now, they don't have much competition considering the Japanese bikes haven't gone on a diet yet. With that said, I see KTM keeping their advanced innovations in their back pocket until the Japanese catch up and lose some serious weight.
That line of thinking only applies to 450s. 250s, I see more blue/red 250s than orange/white/red

I hear ya. I'm seeing guys go for mostly orange and white 350's nowadays.

they look way impressive in person. just saw them yesterday and they’re stunning. I can’t believe they even made this change (I guess this happened in 2021) but they reduced the huge shroud gap where the radiator was clearly viewable and tightened that whole aesthetic up around the tank. it looks a lot slimmer and compact from the rider POV. very nice machine. looks 10 x better in person than in the photos.
