Why didn't KTM try get him?
He's the most complete racer to come out of the 250's in a while IMO and he's stuck on the big blue thingy WHY?

Yeah I get that, but at 26 he's in his prime right now lol not 2023. Is what it is but I feel he's a hell of lot better then this Sx season showed.

He had an offer, but stayed at Star.

I get staying loyal, but business is business, and IMO that orange ride would be difficult to pass on.

Time will tell.
Maybe Star kept him via right of refusal. They can do that in most cases, you know. If his contract has 1st right of refusal, Yamaha can keep him if they ponied up an amount equal or greater than what KTM offered.

As unbelievable as it sounds, he may also really like the big, blue pig.

It’s one thing to get shitty starts in the 250 class and it’s entirely another to get shitty starts on a 450. Starts are his problem not the bike.

I can see an argument where AC's injury/crashing issues and Sexton's less-than-dominant 250 career make for something other than "complete". Of course, I would say the same thing about Ferrandis being a poor starter in 250s.

Starts and the first laps. He's the opposite of Kenny. Gets crappy starts and even if he is up there he just gets shuffled back in the first laps. He usually rides his fastest laps in the last quarter of the race

He was free to sign with anyone, but he chose to stay at Star.

Can't wait to see what he does outdoors.

I really don't know how the AMA tracks that (it's in the timing and scoring numbers), I just know that's really bad compared to the guys near his pace.

Tomac: 6.7
Stewart: 7.9
Musquin: 8.5

Good starters like Webb, Roczen, Cianciarulo, and Sexton all average under 5.

The only top-level guy comparable is Anderson, and his starts have also completely torpedoed his results, with just 2 podiums in 2021.

Yamaha finished 4th, 5th, and 8th; I don’t get the constant hate on the bike. Ferrandis did well when he either didn’t wreck, get caught in a wreck, and the few times he got descent starts. I think he will do even better in outdoors. I think Star made really solid improvements with the Yamaha 450 SX program.

Yes, but the 21, 94, 1 and 51 had bad nights. It seems the 21 had several bad nights this year. I would assume its the Husky program. They were the worst Factory team this year in both classes.

But, But, But, they had a bad night. So let's just put them ahead of 14. That's only fair, I mean a bad night shouldn't count in Supercross.

How about Feld buys 40 Austrian 250’s and 40 Austrian 450’s, paint them different colors and let them race. Would that make you guys happy?

Why does this discussion come up every time a rider shows speed on a blue bike?

Their riders finished 5th, 6th, and 7th overall against a stacked field. Ferrandis is rookie (he will continue to improve - quickly); Malcolm is returning from an injury last year, and Plessinger hasn't been very good at all until this year. So many people act as if the yz450f is unrideable in SX; I think clearly the program is vastly improved and putting Ferrandis on a different bike wouldn't give him immediate Cooper Webb results. That's my opinion anyway. ** I own a Husky and a yz250f, so I'm not defending the yz450f because I ride one.

That Yamaha will be winning 450 titles shortly. Pay attention to the 250 class. Right now the red, white and orange KTM 250 programs have ZERO talent that will produce a 450 Champ. Yamaha has a truck load of future champs, Honda has 2. Kawi maybe 1. There will come a time when a Big time corp called Yamaha stops allowing a little corp called KTM and Roger D from buying the Yamaha riders.
