When did it become the norm to pull out of a series due to missing a couple of rounds due to minor injuries? AC has been out with a collar bone for a year and Wacko tweaked his back from a seat bounce.

Fraudulent for these two to pull out of supercross to prepare for outdoors. So disrespectful to the sport, promoter, their teams, contracts and of course fans. Lame!

Look at the 250 riders sitting out to gain another year as well. Seems the norm these days for riders under contract to sit out the rest of the series.

In some cases these decisions are made by their teams.

I'm sure you thought of that, though.

Deny it all you want but healthy, able riders pulling out of a series early is worse for the sport than any Rutledge segment. Could you imagine NFL quarterbacks calling it a season as soon as they are eliminated from playoff contention?

I mean it's not the exact situation you describe, but in week 17 last year the Chiefs sat Mahomes. But in a situation just like you describe, the Steelers sat Roethlisberger and JJ Watt in week 17 because they were eliminated.

So no need to imagine there, as it's happened and the NFL rolls on.

The blind support of two riders quitting is strange.

Yeah, why would the teams want to protect their odds of winning an outdoor title, when they can put those guys both at risk, racing for zero chance of any title in Supercross because of an earlier injury? "The nerve"!

WTF ever Dude, it must be nice to sit around and think... "How can little ol'e me, make certain I come off as the biggest troll of the day?" (mission accomplished)

Not exactly quitting. Kawasaki made a decision to pull AC out of the series seeing as there's no upside for him to race the remaining 5 rounds. Instead they'll focus on testing and getting ready for the nationals.

Their hopes of defending the SX title this year are pretty much over, so why not get a headstart on the competition for the nationals?

Makes sense to me.

If they are hurt and can't ride effectively....then it makes sense to get ahead of the curve for the next series. Give these poor bastards a break....jesus.

They didn't pull out. They chose not to re-join the series. not really the same thing is it

Wouldn’t 3 gate drops at Atl with all the fellas be better preparation than riding by yourself in Florida?

What if the sport actually had major sponsors backing these dudes? I’m sure McDonalds, Amazon, Coca Cola would be pumped to find out the guy they are backing quit. This builds a case for major sponsorship dollars to go elsewhere. These riders and teams need to look in the mirror.

I think it's best for them if they want to get another title. Probably some of the old guys like Marvin needs to do one or the other but not both. AC since he is young is should probably try to go to more races.

Just to clarify--- The Steelers sat Ben and JJ because winning week 17 meant nothing to their playoff seeding. They had already clinched the division.

JJ Watt has never played for the Steelers, his brother TJ does!
