CMT Compositi Quality

looking for feedback on CMT compositi part fitment and quality. Never really heard of them before, but they are one of two companies selling a CF skidplate for this new honda that has better protection for the engine. P3 is working on theirs, but I was not able to get pictures or a price yet.

I guess I should address that there is CMT USA which I own. I guess there has been some confusion amongst the industry. I have been making parts for factory teams for about 20 years. CMT stands for composite moto tech and I formed it in 2000. We do make a skid plate for the new Honda but while we do sell to the public its only when we have extra parts.

I had a skid plate from CMT in Italy, the plate itself was really well made however the mounting brackets were less than an OK fit and had to be modifies to make it mount nicely.

How about the engine mounts, anyone have experience? They stiffer or softer?

Coal-trains skidplate is a work of art. I was lucky enough to get one. Perfect fit, protects everything unlike the stock one. I wish I had one for the bike and one for my desk

I do really like the look of the italian CMT carbon parts but fitment is not amazing. The only company i had great experiences with on carbon fiber parts is CRM carbon. I dont have experience with Coaltrains CMT but that looks amazing.

CMT Italy products have been pretty good in my limited purchase. I’ve had great luck with P3 and their customer service is one of the best in the business !! All of their stuff has proven to be VERY durable and look great too. Coal-Trains stuff looks like some nice quality stuff as well, I’d pay for that skid plate.

I have never had any p3 product actually fit, my last kx skid plate the holes were almost an inch off, and they supplied the wrong sized mounting bolts.

Little follow up here since someone else posted, I forgot about this one myself. Ordered my part from their site, shipped within a week but took damn near a month to get here.

Looks, a+
Fit A (needed a slight little tweak to the front mounting holes, but the rest of the fit is superb)
Performance? Eh.. it's a skid plate. I will say this design I what I was after. Full frontal protection for the Honda engine cases below the cylinder head. And it's lighter than the plastic stocker (in the hand)

Overall, happy. Would order from them again
