I don’t like how the pro circuit pipe made the revs feel choked up. I took the spark arrrator out last ride and it helped a ton but took away some low end grunt.

Is the fmf more free revving and where is the most noticeable improvement? Thanks

What coupler are you running? TBH exhausts don't work correctly without mapping. I feel the white coupler is too lean to begin with so the PC system could just be making it worse.

I can’t comment on the FMF yet, will likely be a bit before I get to ride it. On the fence whether to have the stock ECU tuned or pull the trigger on a vortex...

I too have the PC exhaust TI pro to be exact. With the air screen removed on the white chip and she runs really good.

I’m stuck in between getting the stock ECU tuned or spend the money on a vortex.

I found the opposite, I thought the PC made it feel really free revving and better everywhere. I’m using the green coupler, but I do have a vortex ready to go once it gets above 0 degrees

I have basically the same set up on mine, except I only have the t-6 slip on. I have one ride on my vortex from twisted and it’s a big improvement IMO. I’ve played around with a couple maps and found number 7 to be my favorite. It adds a little more power everywhere, especially mid-top. Feels a lot more free revving and just makes the bike more fun.

How are you guys liking the 21 so far? Still torn between this and the Honda. My dealer is going to have both bikes in stock in the next few weeks so I need to make a decision. Any one have some good hours on their kx yet?

For the same price? I was in a similar boat and chose the KX due to it being cheaper and the hydraulic-clutch. I don't have very many hours on it yet. The first few rides were great though!

I've got about 12 hours on mine now, and it has been fantastic. I had my buddy at Ride JBI just revalve my forks and shock for a little more comfort and plushness. It feels phenomenal now. The forks were valved a little stiff for my liking out of the box. Spring rate on both ends is unchanged, but damn, the bike is so planted in corners. I don't get that wallowing of the front end that I previously experienced at times. It has that incredible comfort on braking and acceleration bumps that these KYB components are capable of. Tracks were a bit wet from recent rain this past weekend so developed some deep ruts and ideal conditions to feel it out. The bike absolutely rails now. I'm in love.

How tall are you and how much do you weigh? I find the rear shock so far has been perfect but the front a bit too soft. I may have to spring up the forks though since I weigh 210 with gear on. I put in an hour this weekend at a local track and it handles great. Best tracking bike I've ridden. Very predictable.

I’m 6’ tall and about 185 without gear. I also had no complaints on the shock but it does have a bit more comfort now. Do you feel like the forks are riding low in the stroke, or bottoming hard?

I am finding the handling, power and brakes to be very good. Initially the suspension seemed good. It provides good comfort with decent hold up and bottom resistance. It tends to move move than I am comfortable with on the larger bumps and jump faces. I will be doing some re-vavle work.

Riding a bit low and bottoming out on the big ones. In turns I can feel it going low in the stroke. I'm pretty slow but I like the front end to be a bit high. I've been losing weight so I might not mess with much until I plateau on my weight loss.

Sure that makes sense to hold off. You could always increase fork oil volume a bit to see if that helps with bottoming resistance. Easy enough to add and remove.

I rode a bit this last weekend. It sounds like I have a bit of rattle/shake from the silencer or rear end of my bike in certain RPMs. I can't feel it, just hear it. Sounds like a heat guard vibrating but I can't seem to figure out what caused it. I wonder if it's the rear rubber rubber connection to the sub-frame. It doesn't happen all the time, but always gets my attention.

Good thing about the vortex is it can be carried over to your next bike with a reflash with the exception of a few models.

On the 450 at least, people tend to stay away from the FMF because they aren't rubber mounted and were cracking sub frames at the mount. FMF added a metal tab to help, but people were still cracking sub frames. The tabs kept the exhaust from falling down and being destroyed. If it's any different on the 250, someone feel free to correct me.

Considering that the 250 and 450s share the same frame now, I’d check to make sure FMF has come to the rubber mounted muffler party before I bought one.

They are really easy to convert to rubber mounted .. I did mine , took about 2 hrs . I have about 35 hrs with no problems .

Keefer the testing guru says stock pipe puts out more HP than the pro circuit or FMF. Something to keep in mind before laying down a wad of cash for aftermarket exhaust. I’ll probably get the FMF anyway when they finally get back in stock.

I get that it can be converted, but why doesn’t FMF fix the problem on their end? Pro Circuit did.

This KX is a bad ass 250F. In my opinion the only flaw is the front forks. Not because they aren’t good forks they are but kawi didn’t get them right. They need a little tweaking. Enzo fixed mine now I’d put this bike up against any 250F including the Yamaha. Handles like a dream. Its starting to win again in the pro ranks the YZ has been dominating for years.

I rode my kids 21 last week and now I have one lol . I'm 195 wo gear so I think these stiff ass forks might work for me . This bike is amazing. I currently have a 19 450 also , best of both worlds I guess . I don't know if I'll go with a slip on right away I haven't heard they do much

A mate of mine has had his clutch plates brake twice. But mine has been fine 🤷🏻‍♂️

Apparently there’s too much pressure in the brake line. They ended up getting a smaller clutch line and not having the master cylinder filled up so much

Did the plates break and take out the crank or anything?
