Nice ! Yeah those fenders , or mud guards if you like , are definitely an acquired taste ....I never acquired it though.

I Traded in my 1978 Yz125E on a 1979 Rm125
The Rm was a fantastic bike,won my first race that year in 125 C class

I had one, ended up with a lemon. Great bike when it was running, though.

I just bought one this week. The plan is to restore and let my boy race it in vintage classes. Had one in 80-81 when I was 17.

I am going to go with the duckbill fenders to keep it legit.

Great job. I never knew these had so much more travel than the 1978 model. The Suzukis were the bike to have back then. And you're right about them being tall for the times. Nobody had tank stickers at the races.

I remember being a young teen, going to the Suzuki dealer and looking between the rear tire and fender and being amazed at the distance.
