2020 YZ125 Jetting Spec Needed for Glamis

Does anyone have a proven YZ125 jetting spec for Glamis? Heading out there tomorrow for the day. I will be running a 6 paddle tire.

Run it fat (don’t know exact jetting) and it’s gonna work that bike big time(check piston and rings when you get home) !! I would suggest ditching the paddle and getting a knobby paddle.. Dunlop or pirelli both make great soft knobby paddle type tires..
I ran cr 125’s at the dunes all the time growing up but it hard on them..

I dont know what you are running now. I would run at least a 180 main.

You mean 480. Something like Glamis you might wanna go to a 500 or higher.

I have a 460, 470, 480 and 490. I might be able to get my hands on a 500. I normally run a 430 main and its pretty tits. My plan is to start with the 460. I bumped the pilot from 37.5 back to 40 and the needle from 44-74-3 to 43-74-4 so half clip richer from current setting or 1 full clip richer from stock.

You got it, start rich & work you way down is safe. I would also get a splash of race gas in your mixture if you do not already use it.

Yes i meant 480. It is the stock jet my shop puts in a yz125 and we are @0ft elevation with temperature's around 50 F.

Go one or two sizes up from stock on the main jet. run 50/50 race gas.

It's better to go way rich and work your way back down if you keep fouling plugs. You'll be on the gas hard to move through the sand, getting fantastic traction with the paddle, and generating lots of heat.
Don't forget to hit your kill switch from time to time with the throttle open (while riding). It will allow a few cycles of unburnt fuel/air mixture to cool things down a touch.

A 125 in the dunes is hard to do, but really fun once you get in the flow.

I had to go all way up to 500!!! I'm running a Bill's pipe and silencer and Vforce 3 reed cage for reference. Stock needle, clip on position 4, stock pilot.

I'm not surprised. I think the hot set up on the sandy tracks over in Europe for the YZ cup 125's is to run about a 520 with 44-74 needle.

Thats good to hear. The 500 probably worked well for me because it was about 75F, zero elevation and very dry.
