At this point it would be more surprising if Geerts stays up for a full moto than to see him crash.
Well, um, that was about as perfectly timed a comment/crash than I can ever remember!

More unreal is how these lapped riders don’t even move an inch when they get blue flagsDry

Wow Sandner a lap down seeing his team mate go by in 2nd and then completely blocking the road and racing with the next 3 guys for almost a lap. Passed Pantsar in process when he let the guys pass.

First win for Roan, a fantastic career best 2nd for Gifting and first overall for Watson with his brother the first guy to congratulate him after the finish line. A real feel good moto.

Congratulations to Watson.

Great ride from Gifting, he's such a fun rider to watch. You never know what he's going to do from lap to lap.

Finally that GP win for Watson, amazing ride Smile

Lovely to see vd Moosdijk getting that race win and Gifting making it even more difficult for the GasGas team with his progress week by week

Amazing GP by Watson! I don’t know if he already signed something for next year, but this week will definitely help allot. Congrats Ben!

First win for RVDM! Really nice to see some new winners this week! This must feel good for them.

What about Renaux, on the podium in Lommel! Impressive by his ride and improvement this week. Hats off!

Gifting.. What can we say about him? He gets better everytime and looks like the real deal. He deserves a spot on that Factory GasGas next year!

Good GP Debut by Benistant. This one will be overlooked by some people. He is like Gifting the real deal for next year!

Geerts... What is wrong with him? I feel for this kid. He’s never been a crasher before and now he is crashing at least 1 time a moto. He did atleast some Gasjer style with the visor.. lol.

Vialle on his way for his title!

Amazing race by Gajser! Just shows how much he still has in the tank when it is needed. Also impressive how much he improved in the sand in a year!

Gajser rode today like he was Herlings. Well deserved and a step above the class today.

Deserves a black flag for that. Jeez. I'm starting to wonder if some of those guys even know what the blue flag means.

I can’t help but think that Herlings would have crushed everyone round there.

Geerts riding/racing has been a shitshow this season. It's borderline unacceptable to crash this much, i have never seen something similar. Sorry not sorry.

He needs some serious mental training in the offseason, the talent is there.

What is going on with Genot and his team?

His GP-bike kept blowing up, or at least losing power during the races (not only in Lommel, has happened more during the season). After his bike blew up in the second race last Sunday, he was fed up and he decided to use his trainingbike on Wednesday and today. Ofcourse, using only one bike for 4 races and 2 time practices couldn't stay working.

I feel for him, as he is capable of much more as what he has showed this year.

Getting a top 10 and not being able to line up for the second moto sucks. Says something about the financial environment in this sport.

Definately capable of so much more.
When he signed with ixs last year i thought he would have a great year. Hope they’ll figure things out for ‘21

Various reasons, I believe.

- going from a satellite to a full-factory team gives extra pressure
- the weight of a nation on his shoulders. National media began spending more and more attention to the sport due to Geerts' results this season after several years of oblivion. Could've been the first Belgian worldtitle since Steve Ramon in 2007 and the first in MX2 since 2003.
- and most of all, the sudden death of his mentor Dirk Geukens (hart failure) a week or two before the championship fired up again in Latvia. I think this affects him more than anyone - including himself - can imagine.
- oh, and his suspension looks way off sometimes according to me, but that's another discussion.

Ending second in the championship ain't that bad either (third rider is even 100 points behind), but that's not what he's racing for. In my eyes, the saying "he didn't win silver, he lost gold" is what sums up Geerts' season.

I just feel for him as he gets known as a "crasher" now, which he never was before. And actually he isn't at all. A lot of work to do at the Yamaha-squad in the offseason.

And it won't be easier. Vialle, Hofer, Van de Moosdijk, Beaton,... will all have more experience and (normally) will be a bit better. His new teammate Renaux will go for the title aswell, not easy for a team to have 2 guys aiming for the same thing. Some young guns like Benistant and De Wolf. Will be an interesting season.

His own comment:
A 13th and 7th place in the heats is not the result I had in mind for this GP. My start was very good in both heats. Today I lost control of my bike four times, each time the same way. With three more Grand Prix on the calendar, I will continue to work with my team to fine-tune the set-up of my bike. Before heading to Italy, we will do some more tests. Now it is all a bit disappointing, but it can only get better if we continue to work hard all together.

I dont see bike setup to be real problem.

All very good points from you. It will take lots of mental work to overcome what has happened this year, i hope he has people that will steer him in the right direction in that regard because we as fans need a guy like Geerts 100% next year. Vialle is gonna be even more difficult to beat next year and it would be unfortunate if he cruises away with the title again.

Kind of tired of watching that lommel track, doesnt make for close racing. Gajser was amazing though.
