The other day I had a guy wad his brains out in front of me with resulted in me having a cracked Airbox and a little bit of dirt sucked down. So I’m doing the top and bottom end now at 103 hours. I’m planning on doing a new rod, mains, new seals, of course gaskets, valve springs, valve seals, piston and cam chain. I’ll get back to you guys in what it’s going to cost. I’m going to use a mixture of oem parts, pro x parts, and I’m trying to hunt down a cometic gasket set for the whole motor.
I talked to my suspension guy about replacing the valves he said they should be fine but to definitely inspect them and to for sure replace valve springs.

Give us a ride review, I have a 20 kx450 that I use for xc, still trying to get suspension worked out, I thought about trying eather the new 250 or 450 xc

It has been pretty good for me so far. I am a 40 Year Old, decently fast A offroad rider that has raced 2 strokes for over 20 years. This is my first 4 stroke I have owned.
The engine is the same as the MX model from what I am understanding. There was some confusion at first that maybe the ECU was tuned differently but I am hearing now that they are not. I have been using the white connector mostly for the woods riding I have been doing. I have rode the Mudobbers NEPG Enduro course on it twice now, a family enduro with my wife, and did two days in northern Michigan on it.
Its a little bit much in really tight woods so far but it is manageable. Once the trail opens up a little, LOOK OUT! The acceleration is intense. I am coming off a 2019 KTM 250XC with SX head and other mods and it is not even close as far as power.
The suspension is pretty good out of the box but I am setting up a time this week to meet with my suspension guy to ride and make some adjustments. I am 220lb. with no gear so I definitely need springs.
The rear compression adjuster is all the way out and rebound is out two clicks from stock.
The forks are what REALLY shine on the bike thus far. Even undersprung for my weight, they have great "hold up" and provide very good initial plushness. They ramp up pretty quickly as they enter into the mid stroke though and then start to deflect on me a little.
Once I get this suspension dialed, I think the tight woods manners will really come around for me. For an average east coast guy, I'd say its probably too stiff. If you're a guy who rides open trails and mixes moto in, it's probably pretty close.
The OEM skid plate that comes with the bike is pretty weak so I have an Acerbis to install this week.
The kickstand is a pretty heavy, ugly, steel unit but it holds the bike up so I'm not complaining.
I have had to replace the chain, chain guide, and chain slider so far. I have been through two sets of tires. It's about to need rear brakes, and I feel like all I have been doing is changing oil!
Also, have heard the G2 throttle cam system is a good modification for this as well.

I used the black coupler the first couple days I rode the bike but it seemed like the bike flamed out or just stalled a little more often. I need to ride with it again now that I am getting used to the bike.
I used the green coupler when I was in wolverine in the rain. It was decent but definitely mellower than the white.
