Bailey said the 250F have proven to be faster than the 250T. Is that why the AMA/DMG has decided not to let the two-strokes race in that class, because their slower? 5 to 10hp more on the two smoke, but not as fast, HUH?

Team Managers had more to do with it than anything.Stock vs Stock I think the 2t would beat it.At the pro level ,not so much of an advantage.

The mfgrs were terrified of it. To the point where they wanted to secure promises that no top team or rider would field a smoker.

End of story.

Not true. They cost more to purchase, maintain, rebuild. They are heavier, make less power, more noise, and do a better job of getting our riding areas closed down due to that noise.

They proved to be faster than 450's at the des' Nations a couple years ago too.

that the riders fought not the bike, stewart would have won mini'os on a four stroke also. check my link above and a amateur and a pro ride both and compare, they both agreed that the 250t was better and the amateur said he never had rode a 250 t before.

On a smooth track it will, on a rough track it wont. (An A.m racer on DMXS said that not me.)

im sure it's better on a smooth track, but why wouldn't the four stroke be also? still im standing by the fact a good rider will win on a 250t or a four banger. wasnt it a few years ago a 125cc was winning by 30sec's against 250f's in the outdoor nationals?

True very true, funny how we seem to so quick to forget.

If I am able to ride again im thinking about going back to the 2t not because I believe they are better but because I have come to a point that I feel I actually rode them better. My time on 4 strokes has been nothing but crashes and very hard one's to boot, after the last one I think I may give it a shot and see what happens. 4t's definitly get better traction and track a lot sraighter but I feel (and maybe this is just me) the 4t resists change in driection when pushing forward and seem to throw me to the ground a lot harder with more force unlike my experiences with 2t's that just pinball off everything....just MO

I'm just now watching the 250s at Freestone. They just showed the lineup at the gate start their bikes and take off for the parade lap. I don't think I saw any one of them take less than 3 kicks to start the bike and many of them took 6 to 8 kicks (or more) to get them pigs started. If you can't get a warmed up 2-stroke started in 1 kick (2 at most) something is wrong.
