Lappers are part of racing and there are racers where the leader laps into the top 10.

Think this thread popped up , because Kyle deleted his thread about black flagging " potential " lappers. 85% voted NO on it , so I guess he decided it was a stupid idea.

And , it was.

So you would actually have to black flag them before they get lapped in order for them not to be in the leader's way? How exactly do you figure how long it's gonna take Villopoto to catch Tickle who is a lane ahead of him on lap 18 ?

What if Villopoto crashes on the start and gets going as the leaders go by, he sticks with them and they lap up to 12th...

There's no way to manage this properly so let's forget this.

My counterpoint with these scenarios is that the rule would be, if your riding on the track and the leaders are coming up behind you, and they get within 3 or 5 seconds Or whatever (pick a margin), then you get a flag where you MUST get off the throttle and pull over. If you continue to race the track then you get black flagged. how many times a flagger things they’re out of the way of the leader but continue to attack the track on the outside line or whatever only to be getting in the way and ruining the fucken battle that everyone is watching

Harsh point in all this that snowflakes get offended with is that no one gives a shit about the battle the lappers are in, if they did then the camera would be on it.
I never thought someone would counter 8 years later. Not gonna argue - just gonna go have breakfast.

They need to have an A and B class. Also, at redbud in the 450 class anybody not jumping the leap should be black flagged.

So it is decided on vital. Lappers are good. Just send out a second gate drop off C riders. It will improve the racing. Obviously.

Just because a lapper isn't racing the leaders doesn't mean he's not racing, some of those battles at the back are just as important as the top guys.

Lappers are a part of racing and one of the obstacles. It keeps things interesting. I wouldn't change a thing.

Black flag riders potentially racing for points? No.

Not going to read all the post but hasn’t there been times when a rider in the hunt for the championship is a bad start due to a wreck and come back for maybe 15 place finish for points, but gets lapped during the process? Everyone is racing for position even if you are lapped.

I think y'all ought to take a good hard look at what soemone has to go thru JUST to qualify for a National.

Go ask Keefer...who's fast as hell and still has a hard time making the cut. Think about it, a guy that is more than capable of putting in a lot of REALLY FAST laps, is paid to test for the factories, is acknowledged by virtually everyone that "he knows what he's doing", has "testified" in posts, in articles, on Steve's show, on his own vlogs...his own mediia productions...about just how hard it is...and gives mega-props to the privateers that continuously go out there week-after-week-after-week...and get in...and take that gate along with all the factory heroes...and finish those 30+2 motos...

And some of you want to Black Flag them for getting lapped?
Oh....Helllllll NO!

That's not Moto. Not by a damn-sight.

If the moto-heroes can't deal with lappers...? Well, nah...forget that: This season has proven time & time, again, that lappers are an important part of racing.

This ain't golf.
This is racing.
