Awesome... I don't think this was ever televised. I only read about it in Cycle News and MXA maybe. Keith Bowen was on fire! I didn't know he was that close to winning it.

Yes it was something with his chain and if I recall he lost another main event at his hometown SX, Pontiac (84?)
because of a mechanical too.

Cool video. Ryan stretching his body over the handlebar to see the doghouse prior to grabbing another of his many holeshots for his career. Classic.

Rodney Smith running up front too (191 Honda) before moving on to GP’s., Bowen impressive and unlucky, Stanton (another privateer) grabbing 2nd, and much more.

These Gary Bailey videos are gold and this one’s pretty special since I don’t recall ever seeing the entire race on TV. Just highlights I think.
