Yeah I saw he was up there, but heard something about someone else leasing the track. Wasn’t sure if it was gonna be open under another name. It’s a shame it was one of the few places with a kids track and a good big track.

The latest I have heard, yes Donnie left and is "no longer affiliated" with Motovated sports. They are finishing their series by combining dates with other tracks, but all racing at the facility is canceled for the immediate future. It sucks, they JUST built a new night track there and only got to have one race on it.

In her Facebook post, Amanda said she intends to reopen the facility, but I'm sure it will take time to get that organized. So I think there is probably hope, at least.

I always liked racing Motovated events because they pay cash in the vet classes!!

GTR (near Columbia) is still open and is a great winter track for anyone looking to snowbird as it is open during the week and has sand.

I wish we could have an actual state series in SC that hit 8-9 tracks for 10-12 rounds, instead of 4-6 tracks having their own independent 8 race series. It could be so cool....I just can't make myself get interested in a Groundhog Day series...

They got an ig page. Really easy to get to. Bout 35 minutes off exit 32 on I-85. They have an ig page. It’s steward Baylor’s place. Really legit track.

Shoals is a fantastic place. Makes sense for Donnie to prep it while Andrew Matusek, who usually takes care of it, and the owners young boys are out racing the gncc races on the weekends.
4 tracks and a woods turn track if I remember right. They were going to put in 30 camper hook ups this summer, not sure if covid ruined all that.

Motovated justt posted on social that they lost the lease to the Gray Court track -- and that it is going to Traveler's Rest MX crew. Which is interesting, because I thought TRMX was also developing another property somewhere in the upstate. Wonder how this will impact all of that...with such a low density sport, there is definitely a potential for too much of a good thing.
I just hope they slow down some of the sections of the Gray Court track before someone has a catastrophic get off.

Top Gun just opened back up and that is close to Charlotte, the videos look cool. Plus ClubMX has a public practice track that is a lot of fun. I'm sure a lot of people from western NC come to upstate, not sure how many from Charlotte though.
I rode at Dirt World in Statesville once when I met up with my brother who lives in VA. The track is pretty basic but if you are just getting back into it I think it would be a lot of fun for a while.

yes. there are hardly any NC (west of CLT) public practice tracks open frequently. travelers rest, motivated, strawberry hill are the options, all surrounding greenville.

On more bummer about motovated being closed is strawberry hill is now ungodly packed. The weekend they shut down I was out there and it was hard to even get a good lap in on such a small track with what felt like 30-40 people on it. Not to mention all the people waiting on the side of the track who can’t even get on because it’s so packed.

Yes I know a ton of people from WNC that have to go to SC to ride we don’t have hardly any places up here. It’s a minimum of an hour drive for me to ride anywhere.

Just an update, but the folks over at travelers rest mx have taken over the lease. What I'm thinking is since this would be their third track (trmx, 101 (motovated), and they have a new one in Easly sc that is supposed to open this fall) maybe they will start a race series similar to the fortunes with catheys creek and iron city, but it would be their tracks.

On a somewhat related note, Donnie has been putting on fairground races here in southeast KY. Friday night's practice had a parking lot full of riders, was out of town Saturday so I'm not sure how well the race went. Ain't a huge MX scene here so it's cool to see it be successful.
