I just picked up a 2013 YZ250 2 smoker and want to put a 2020 YZF450 front fender and number plate on it. Assuming that I need to swap that clamps out. Any idea what years models would work? Thanks in advance for the help!

Just drill new holes in your 2020 fenders to fit on your 2013 clamps.

You don't need to swap clamps. Just need to either drill holes in the front fender to match the 13 pattern or I think Polisport offers the 2018-2020 450 plate and fender for the YZ's.

Just get the restyle branded renders and they bolt right up

The 2020 fender bolted right up on my 2016. Haven't tried a 2020 plate though.

I can tell you that the both the front plate and front fender bolt right on to a 2016. Not sure if the clamps on the YZ were different the few years prior to that, but I doubt it.

I have a 2013 as well with the cycra restyle front fender on mine, just bolts right up, no need for triple clamps or the drill new holes

They changed the clamps with the restyle in 2015, which is the same as the YZ450F.

2014 and older you have to drill since the hole spacing is a bit off. With the 2015 and newer, the YZ450F fender will bolt right up. YZ450F front number plate works fine too.

2015 the bolt pattern changed to match the 4 strokes. They are a bit wider than pre 2015.

The clamps don’t “swap out” between those two bikes.

Thanks. That’s exactly what I was looking for. Do you happen to know if it’s an easy swap if I find a set of OEM clamps from a 15 and up? I would assume so but I’ve been out of the 2 stroke game for a long time

For what it's worth.....I put 09' YZ450 clamps (top and bottom) on my 07' YZ250. I had to swap out the stem to make this work. The stems were not the same length. Can't speak to the late model stuff though. Just something to think about.

(the purpose of the upgrade in my case was to get the bars moved further forward. also the 09 450 clamps are lighter yet cheap to buy on ebay)

If you get a set of 2015 or newer YZ250 two stroke clamps it is a direct swap. I have Luxon on mine, but it uses the 2015+ spacing.

Haha good thing you're here to check me. Definitely did not remember that.

Makes me wonder why Yamaha doesn't just change over to the 4 stroke front plastic already. Maybe 2022 they'll clean up the body again and unify it a bit.

Thanks for the link. The rest of the bike was upgraded already. He washed the front end and broke the upgraded one and then drilled the new 450 fender but it doesn’t match up to the number plate very well. Figured if I could get my hands on a set of clamps that they would bolt right up to I wouldn’t have to mess with it.

I was just doing that as an example. I'm sure they offer the two parts separately from the kit.

Haha. While there are plenty more on here that have more knowledge than I do on the subject, I've done A LOT of research on this topic. Like the fact that the YZ125 and 250F use the same size stem for many years, but the YZ250 was all on its own.
