Half of things in life are scams and hoaxes, starting by blinded anxious tales like hoaxes.

Uh, .... couldn’t wade though all the very stimulating intellectual debate on Covid19, but was curious if a rider tested positive. If so, who?

Just looking at the point standings, and guys who aren't listed in the qualifying results:

Jacob Hayes, Aaron Tanti, Jay Wilson, Michael Leib, Ludovic Macler, Taiki Koga.

Of course it could also be somebody who hasn't scored any points this year.

Aaron Tanti and Jay Wilson are back in Australia preparing for the Aussie MX Nationals restart.

Jacob Hayes crashed hard while preparing for the return of SX and is out with multiple injuries

I believe all of those guys are legitimately out except for Macler, but I have not heard anything on Macler in a few months.

And he's from France, so possibly not even in the country.

Whoa, take it easy... I got lambasted on here for saying that hospitals were empty in Southern California. How dare you share something you know to be factual when it doesn’t line up with what the news is saying?! Apologize immediately and disappear into the bushes.
Do you want to help clean up the messes? If not, don't help start them.

I get dumber every second I read this thread and pretty much anything social media related about Covid. No wonder shit is so fucked up. Everyone is an expert or their opinion is more important than another’s. I guess that’s how it goes in a society that believes the earth is flat and other ridiculous shit.
Exactly, What has the world come to when we dont trust scientists, but we do trust some dude on facebook, or some bloke talking about new world orders and Bill Gates conspiracies on YouTube.

If you guys (not Tuna) really don't trust official statistics from government departments and the health system. Do you guys really think so little of these professionals?
Do you really trust an anonymous person on Facebook over a scientist that has studied infectious diseases for decades?
I have read so much about the fact that the numbers on deaths are so inflated because the health system gets more money from the federal government for Covid deaths. I accept that the exact number is difficult to get. but come on, the latest death toll is at about 115k. so what do you think the real number is? Is the government so inept that they can get screwed for 10s of thousands of deaths without knowing?

If anyone really thinks this is all made up, they are either crazy, or the system is filled full of absolute morons from top to bottom, both sides of the isle, and every government around the world.

I keep reading "I do my own research and make up my own mind" that sounds great, but if someone does a couple of hours "research" on the internet and reached a conclusion that is diametrically opposed to the consensus of the scientific community.....guess what, their "research" was bullshit.

The second part is weighing up impact on jobs, economies and livelihoods with public health.
That is the complicated and unscientific part. and the debate about what should happen is totally understandable.
But again, both sides of the scale should be filled with numbers from professionals.
Economists fill the inputs on one side, scientists and public health professionals input the numbers on the other and elected officials should make the decisions based on those inputs.
That is how the system should work, that's what everyone is elected, qualified and paid to do.
Our job as voters is to make sure we vote the best possible people in to make those tough calls. And it seems that we are doing a pretty shit job of that. I am talking globally, not talking about any particular party or politician. I dont want to get political.

Saying all of that, there is literally over 100 pages in a thread on the non moto portion to debate if Covid is serious or not.

Good thing the U.S.C. and FELD got this going when they did.

My ER isnt filling up. We have less Covid type presentations but we are testing a ton more people. We are at about a 1-1.5 hour result time. We are also seeing a rise in the stupid shit coming back in which means people are not as worried about it anymore and they need their attention fix by coming to the ER.

gharmon.... just curious what you believe the accuracy to be on the standard Covid test, as well as the quick turnaround test (1.5 hrs) you mentioned. There is info out there that says the accuracy of these tests is only 60-70%. Any thoughts?
We are told 50-55% accuracy. We are currently doing two tests over two days for admitted pts. Ine in er then next day on the floor. But it is also tied in with certain labs, ct if chest and other clinical indicators.

This is the same in my ‘hood. We’ve had record low ER visits for the past 3 months but the visit rates are on the rise and the usual frequent flyers and ER abusers are coming back. More troubling is data and reports that our homeless/vulnerable drug users have been getting the Canadian personal emergency benefit payout and that drug overdoses are starting to rise sharply. Even reports of the drug addicted getting “help” from dealers to apply for the CERB.

The costs of this pandemic are multi-faceted. No argument to support full agendas based on humanity OR economy is valid. This is uncharted water for modern society. I’m so over the divide between everyone.

I'm not sure you're going to get a name unless the rider provides it.

So that means you're good to go to drop his name in here? Blink

I checked with him, and he said it's not him, and that he's not racing dirt bikes for the remainder of the year.

What is the big deal if a rider did test positive? He would not have been let in the track, the rules have everyone 2.2 miles from each other leading up to this point. The said rider will likely get through it with mild (if any) symptoms, and come back when he is clear.

Seriously, other than for the folks who love negative meaningless drama and attention, what is the big deal? Everyone needs to get over this crap. The precautions in place are so over the top, the system Feld put in place makes it impossible for this to become "a big issue", ever.
Good luck with your pneumonia. BTDT. It isn't the flu.

Steve, you should just send this thread to the dumbgeon vs. picking and choosing posts to delete. I see many posts still here that are no different than mine you deleted. People complain about the quality of idiots here lately, yet posts (kindly) explaining perspective get removed, while one-liner childish insults are free game. I know this thread teeters on the edge of moto and BS, but just flush the whole thing if you are going to pick at comments that are generally all saying the same thing.
