Just like in the other thread on KYB's, China has been making lots of things for lots of Moto companies for a long time. Lots of parts are interchangeable with other brands including aftermarket.

If a KTM is $11k and GPX is $5500, or half of that, and you sell it later for 1/2 of that which one do you lose more money on? The KTM would cost $2750 more to own.

I am a big believer in the need for good bikes for less money; but, I'm really pissed at China at the moment...for good reason(s).

Also, I'm trying ot figure out how they get away with direct knock-offs of Husky/KTM intellectual poperty...which we know...the Chinese have no such concerns about; but, I do. It's "stolen"...at the end of the day.

If this product was a bit more "original" and made somewhere that doesn't run over people battle with tanks... like say... maybe...Taiwan?

I'm not sure if these are good or bad for new riders. Depends on reliability. Even at $3500 for the 250 air cooled 4 stroke, I think a low hour older Japanese bike would be better. I've had cheaper Chinese pitbikes impress me at first, but by 10 hours everything starts falling apart.

Ran into a guy locally on a GPX and stopped to chat, sorry forgot the model. He had it a few years and said it was like any other bike he had owned, no problem, Kind of ironically his bike was idling while he was waiting for his buddy to get his orange one running.

Anyone doing business with China by now has to know that they will have their product knocked off, this isn't a new phenomenon. Not saying it's right, but it's up to you if your wallet is fat enough to have a conscience.

The Chinese were certainly involved in this virus debacle, but time will tell they had a few partners on this side of the Pacific.

No doubt the higher the price goes, the closer you come to Japanese inventory dumping of current models.

SSR (another Chinese company), if I recall correctly, was, or probably still is selling bikes that look like an exact rip off of an 07-08 CRF450R.

Odds are they bought a KTM and blueprinted it. You could probably replace broken parts with oem. I've seen that on the small Honda ripoffs.

That never happens. This isn't IMSA or Formula1. People come in at the cheap end and maybe 10% will spend for a more expensive bike, if they're committed. The Japanese Business model was exactly the same. With the thin profits on the production quantities of today (this isnt the 1970's), the Japanese will go to another market (UTV's?) for the profit and KTM/Husqvarna/GasGas will go to India.

How reliable are this things? Especially the 250 2t and 250 4t.
When i don't know how reliable they are, how are the suspension working, how the frame is reliable, the engine, everything.
I'm not throwing away 5k when for 5k i can get a '18 rmz 250 or a '19/'20 kxf 250.

Yeah, i boycott china products and china marketing. No respect for humans, rarely see decent Quality Standards, i buy what people with living like mine make, not from somebody who works 18 hours/day and doesn't even know what is happening in the world. Fuck this i m out

I actually bought the 2021.5 FSE 450r...I haven’t tested it yet since I’m out of country but once I do, i will come to my own conclusions. Most of this fellas are just talking without haven’t experienced it themselves.
