Millsaps and Tedesco are just collecting a check. Short is the only one putting out any effort.

i guess there's a few guys in the team that think they are bigger then the riders......
a few riders that left the team say that they have strong ideas and don't work completly for the rider.......and you could see from rc that he was much happier with suzuki....
kind of like the american honda team is to cooperative and the riders are just employes with just one joob to do........and get very well payed for it...........
Honda puts more effort into dialing in the bike to suit the rider than any other team out there.

Honda also puts a lot of pressure on their riders to do well.

Kehoe seems like a bit of a pushover though.

Millsaps is much faster than his results. Lack of want is his problem.

I have two friends that sold their '09 Honda 450's.....said they hated them.
Seems like people that were riding Hondas before '09 hate them and people that switched over from other brands dont mind them.

Tedesco, Short and Millsapps never dominated, its the riders not the bike.imo.

They're doing tons better than the "KTM boys".

What's in store for Tedesco's career?

Riders like RV and Josh Grant, right out of the 250f class, are beating him now.

RV, Grant and are flat out faster than Tedesco. I think when his Honda contract is done he's done. There are a bunch of lites riders that are faster than him right now.

The team has posted the exact same results in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and now 2009.

It's not the bike. It is the riders on the team. Short tries his best every lap and will once again end up 3rd in SX and 3rd in MX.

Honda is not a Championship Title winning team. They don't buy the top riders. What wins on Saturday does not mean jack on the showroom floor. Honda continues to sell more MX bikes than any other Mcf.

When Honda took the heat they did after bringing RC on (for buying titles and/or #1 plates), it seemed to change up their thinking going forward. They have since held consistent to having a few top 10 guys to maintain their visibility and also justify the money Red Bull brings in. However, at the same time, developing a farm system, which is now absolutely loaded with the likes of Barcia, TC and Wharton.

Who is to say that when Davi came up and over from Suzuki, he was not going to be the next top guy? He still has the potential, just needs the will...if Honda gave up on him and he walked to another team and started winning, that would look even worse, right?

Does anyone else think back to Lake Whitney 07, when Short had that race all but wrapped up leading the 2nd moto, and he would have grabbed the series by the gonads as well going into the final round. And he went down. Why? He's a million times better than he was at that moment. But that was it. It was all over right there. You could just tell. It led to a rather exciting finish for GL and Yamaha at Glen Helen, but something happened in that moment. Somewhere, a little Honda voodoo doll had its tires deflated with a pin, and until someone finds that doll, it ain't going to get any better.

They all can't win, but Short looked like a solid 5th at GH. It ain't the bike. It ain't the rider.
Its the doll.

Have to agree with a FEW on here:
Bike or not, results are the same as the last few years.

The Honda boy's ain't ever gonna consistently beat Mikey, Ryan of Chad.

So they are racing for 4th place amongst themselves and trying to slip in to a podium if there is a screw up. But they have to deal with Grant for that spot who will be there every time he get's a good start.

Yes, thanks kawboy. Freestone. Of course. Texas confusion.

Lake Whitney. Wasn't that where we were "introduced" to the all new 09 CRF450, the bike that was going to be better than any other bike ever, and then as everyone wheeled them out of showrooms, the people from the very same magazines started poo pooing it?

What was that about?

Correct, LW was were they introduced the CRF. I live about 15min. from LW and was headed home from a race the night the Honda big rig passed me up on I-35 heading down there( they must of been doing 90 in that semi) for that ride week with the mags.

Honda is a big team. Rather then pay one top rider, they have four decent riders... Short, Tedsco, Mudflaps, Townley, they put a lot of Honda's on the track. Whatever they are doing it seems to be working for the market. I know here locally there are two to three times more Honda's in each race then other bikes.

If the bikes are so bad how come there were:
34 - Honda's
17 - Yamaha's
17 - Kawasaki's
5 - Suzuki's
entered in the 450 class?

It can't be the bike...

Look and Moss and Reardon (Sorry about spelling). They look good on the bike...

I think the problem with Honda is that there is no "Main rider"... If you look at all the teams that are doing well they always have a star rider which motivates the other riders.

PC use this all the time....

Now I am not saying that Honda's riders are not that good, but there is no clear star...

Just my opinion... But I could be blowing out my ass.
