Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
At first I was kind of happy with the X30 front then I rode a mates bikes with the Dunlop mx3s on it and realised what I had been missing out on.
I did try an X30 rear and didn't really like it, I actually prefer the X40 rear. Funny thing is it has worn to a point and now doesn't seem to be wearing any more but it just doesn't have much grip. Its like the rubber has just gone hard.
I have a set of Maxxis ST's to go on now as they are running a promotion and doing contingency for a series I'm racing. I've heard a lot of good reviews so can't wait to give them a crack
The MX3s keeps popping up, but it's not available here, same goes for the Hoosiers.
Same feeling here with the X30's...wore a bit then boom, concrete.
I might have to try a pair of the Mich Star 5's in inter. But the Bridgestones here are a very good deal and come with free pair of H/D inner tubes. Bugger....
Ref the Maxxis, here there is a deal going on too, but I just never was too keen on the tyre...tire.
What would you say for a intermediate Maxxis F&R?...
Make the first 7/8 hours on sand, after that you can go on the highway and the tire wont ruin as much as running it on hard pack tracks in the first hours.
Guaranteed.
18 hours on my set and i’m planning to change them around 23/25.

Also, looking at the Washougal 2 as it says on the ad "Washougal II, with dual compound-technology is the ultimate tyre for intermediate to hard terrain.
The rear tyre’s harder central compound offers excellent durability while the softer compound on the shoulders provides cornering stability and maximum traction."
So, that still is only ok for Hard pack?, as it looks and reads like its also ok for Intermediate tracks too??...
Just curious since Dunlop spends so much on marketing with racing, Michelin and Maxxis advertise a lot with Pulp and others, and Pirelli spends a fortune with JGR, yet so many are choosing Hoosier who I've seen do relatively little marketing. That's a business dream to not spend huge sums on marketing and gain market share.
I know they had a couple of 250 regional riders but they are definitely doing something right to get this much attention. Something I must have missed.
I just got a set of Pirelli MX32 Mid Softs that I will try for the 1st time in a couple weeks. Keefer had a good review of them recently and they were $160 a set delivered so I pulled the trigger.
Like to try the Hoosiers but not at $200+ a set and with a 10 hour wear average before they chunk. Also, I'm not fast and don't race much anymore so wear is more important than outright traction.
Hammer
My X30's on the 2 stroke have gone like concrete and will just not wear out, so the grip has also gone too and "sketchy" front end feeling.
Rear tyre I would run an x30/x40 as a practice/training tyre but no way I'd race on it unless the track was really hard pack. I haven't ridden the Maxxis on hard pack so I'm not sure how it would go but there aren't many tracks around I would consider true hard pack
Pit Row
Pirelli MX extra X which have an open pattern but wear like iron. Good on loamy to hard dirt and OK on sand. “Training tire”
If you do its first hours on sand, then if you go also on hard packed tracks, it will last a lot.
But first hours must have been on sand.
