I absolutely love my 03 KX250!!
I have a bit of a soft spot for the 2003 Kawi's and I currently own a 03 KX125 and two 03 KX250's. For being a mutt bike and not highly sought after its one of my favorite years of that body style.

Finally had a nice day so I wheeled her outside to snap a few glamor shots. She turned out pretty nice. Im not finished and a bike build is never done but I needed to slow down the spending and actually spend a few laps on it

Magnificent build! I love 03-up Kawi smoker builds. I have an 04 KX125 build that I have been on for years and that bike will be with me forever.

After a few months of riding and recouping some money I came across a set of older Xtrig clamps located in Canada. I didn’t think it was a bad deal. $400 usd for clamps, bars and a pro perch, so I grabbed them. I had been searching for a nice set of clamps for sometime now and I wasn’t have much luck because of the older 47mm 250f forks.

The clamps were in really good shape but the orange clashed with the PC look. So I hand the clamps vapor honed for a nice satin finish and outfitted them with some fresh Ti hardware.

I have a local St. Louis guy that does all of my Vapor honing, cerakote, plating and powder work. He takes a lot of pride in his work and it will be perfect when you get it back. If your on instagram check him out, If not shoot him a message.

Thanks Ledger. I put a lot of time, money and effort into my builds. I wish I had unlimited funds like half of these other guys.

is the PC pull rod a different length? I have an 03 250 and wondering what benefits it has on the 03.

Did you go with UFO plastic? all of the other plastic manufacturers cant get the front fender pitch right to save their lives.

Yes, UFO front fender and number plate but I think the rest of the bike is Acerbis.

Aren't those SFF forks universally disliked or is that something that happens when they're made ultra stiff for sx?

Hell of a build man! I absolutely love the PC look, once I get my 07 done, I might have to buy another set of plastics so I can rock that look as well.

I’ve loved every set I’ve ever owned. I also love the SFF Air forks when they’re tuned right. I guess I’m an odd duck.

Last up on the build was to ditch my old 450 wheel set and build a nicer looking set to complement the bike. I sent the stock hubs to Clayton at Trick Engineering and had the OEM cast marks turned down. Then, I had a local guy vapor hone and powder coat the hubs in a translucent bronze manufactured by Columbia coats. The hubs were then laced up to a set of A60 using Excel spokes and nipples.

WOW!! No expense was spared on this build. I like it a lot. I've always been curious how much weight a complete titanium bolt/nut kits saves.

Awesome build! I just started on my 03 and could use some parts if you have anything still? I would love to buy some.

Unfortunately, I like to hold onto parts. It's getting harder and harder to find stuff and I always seem to break something. I took a bunch of my leftover 125 and 250 parts and assembled a complete kx250 parts bikes.

Hell yeah that is completely understandable!

Awesome build. Miss my ‘03. Never should have sold it. Bought it in 2009 with 20 hours for $2,300. Loved that bike. Not a power house, but stable and consistent. Remember the like pearl flake on the OEM graphics when the sun hit. So unique. 7CAA1C0B-5EA2-4C1D-B43A-E9E5CD9D0B1D
