The MV official announcement today listed that they are still Assessing the situation regarding the Vic titles at Broadford and a decision will be made soon. If that does go ahead i believe that will be the last of any events for a while.

I think Mossy will do ok but will be a lot stronger in his 2nd year back

as for MX, I don't believe yo will see him race it till WEM isn't involved as there is still some very bad blood there.

my guess is he will be a SX only guy from here on out

From my understanding this is WEM's last year running the nationals and even this year is a semi hand over year to M.A taking back over control of running the events, like they do with the AORC and the ASBK.

Not 100% on this, but I think it is the way it is heading.

Would be good to see Matt back at MX as well, but yeah don't expect to see that happen this year

What's the general consensus on MA running the AORC and ASBK?

Do you know who runs the Junior Nationals? I thought it was WEM but could be wrong. Its going to my home track in Alice Springs in 2021
The club runs the Junior Nationals with the assistance of M.A but really it comes down to the Club to get it all sorted and M.A are their for advice.

My home club ran it last year, I am on the committee, just look after club memberships so not a huge contributor to the juniors last year, though did sit with M.A's P.R lady and helped write a quick daily wrap during the event. But was really focused more on my own son Smile

There is a lot to organise, I would suggest getting the best race sectary you can, hit me up on facebook or a private message here if you want some suggestions on who could really help the club with this and more Smile

Not sure what will happen with this years event, but I was not heading over to North Qld anyway, just to much money to be spent to go race the 50 class. Probably looking between $6000, $10000 for the week, maybe on the cheap for just under $5000!

Its meant to be the same weekend as Hattah, myself and my son can race that for just under $2000 for the weekend, much better value for us lol.

But who knows what happens with either event right now.

considering there is already restriction on travel to remote places in the N.T it could be interesting for sure.

Still a few months away so a fair bit of time for that event to be sorted at least.

At the moment the Sunshine state series is going ahead. Entrants have been asked how many people they will be bringing and they have also been told not to show up on the days they aren't riding. I guess they are trying to keep numbers low.

How is the sunshine series going these days?
Used to be huge with well over 500 riders going back 15 years or so.

We raced the first round of the Vic Juniors on the weekend, they went ahead with that as the limit to 500 people or less gatherings had not started.

Saturday I doubt they would have got close to having 500 people there, Sunday would have been close for sure.

As a club we have just cancelled our first Club race day of the year, but will continue to open the track for practice days.

A race day with 100 or 150 entries will push us very close to 500 people, though a practice day with the same number of riders cuts back on the number of people/family/friends that come to the track, officials and the few spectators.

So the good news is we can still ride, just not race.

This is the first year I have done it since 2000, back then it was still one day with around 400 riders at events like Connondale, I think this year over the 2 days they had around 370 entries.

Some good riders signed up for it, Ferris was ment to be there but did his knee training, Todd Waters was ripping and Jai Walker was right there behind him. We didn't stay for the Sunday but in the program the MX2 class had a few heavy hitters in it

That line about Ferris hurting his knee would be big news, if there was any racing happening.

MX Nats were meant to start in a few weeks.

MQLD are releasing a statement in regards to the future of races today, not looking good especially when the QAS can make the final call that's for sure, our Central QLD Series isn't looking too good even with the smaller numbers these days, massive kick in the guts that's for sure.

Guy I work with was meant to play a local cricket final this weekend, but Cricket Australia stepped in and canceled all cricket games nation wide, meaning any unfinished finials the finals were awarded to the top ranked team at the end of the regular season.

My bosses daughter had a Netball final this Friday night, they had planned to play them one at a time, allowing 1-2 hours between each game to allow the families and kids time to leave before the next game showed up, and only the child and two adults were to attend, but they have now cancelled to fall in line with other sports.

My guess is M.A will soon follow suit and it would not surprise me to see both racing and any practice or coaching days put on hold in the coming days.

It looking more like Australia will go into total lock down apart from those that have to work to keep the country running, supplies chains, authorities, medic etc.

Going to be a very interesting couple of days to say the least.

Hospitals don't want injured people in them due to the China Virus. It all boils down to bed space and risk of further infection

As of today Sunshine state series is still going ahead with very special conditions.
NSW on the other hand has basically cancelled everything.
The flow on effect to these cancellations is huge. I was talking to a mate yesterday who told me that Killarney trail ride is cancelled. That is put on by the local school and draws over 3000 riders, that raises 20k for the school.

Probably the least of the problems facing the Alice Springs community economy. Not being smart but strong winds are blowing towards us I think
