As of now they’re saying it’s on. Guess it’s up to local authorities at this point. REM says they’re not canceling this weekend either.

This cancelling races is stupid. Telling healthy, fit people with robust immune systems they can't gather OUTSIDE and exert themselves is ridiculous. I was in Paso Robles, CA just this weekend at a cutting horse show. I looked around at the crowd and thought about how healthy, happy and positive the whole crowd of about 1,000 looked. I don't think those folks would have tolerated being shut down.

It is really hard for people to accept the simple fucking idea that if we can just make some sacrifices now, we can get back to normal life sooner rather than later with much less chaos.

Glen Helen closed by county until at least April 3rd so no REM or anything else.

Is it so hard to believe the concept that staying home might have no difference to otherwise healthy people?

I heard different. I'd double check triple check before making concrete plans.

The problem isn’t necessarily with the people that have a healthy and robust immune system. People can be infected and show no symptoms, but then pass this on to someone with a compromised immune system. It sucks but it’s not about you it’s about the collective us.

if you don't have it and don't get it, who will you pass it to?

most of you have such a myopic view of this, do any of you ever think about anyone but yourself? the healthcare system is already strained, but yea go ahead and break a leg or worse and strain the system even more and then catch corona virus while you are at the hospital.

you can be a carrier of it and not show symptoms so you don't know you have it.

Spinning some easy laps to relive some stress or taking a nice off road is all good. But having races right now isn’t the best idea for anybody. Say someone gets hurt...which is real good chance most race wknds that at least one person does. Now that ambulance team and rider / family are all adding potential exposure to themselves and others who are already having a tough time dealing with what’s going on. No need to add to the stress and work load health care workers have on there hands at the moment. Soon as things start to chill out racing and everything else will be back to business, till then we should all do our part to ride this out on the couch best we can

You can catch simply by touching a surface after someone who had been there hours or even days before you. A lady and her husband in there 70’s here in Syracuse got it and they haven’t had any close contact with anyone. Just thru community spread when they went somewhere like a gas satiation or grocery store. Unless you never leave your home there is the risk of getting it without being around another person at all. Till we can “starve” the spread by all staying home for awhile as much as we can. So the spike of cases can level off eventually and give medical workers time to deal with the most vulnerable people first

Here in New York things are progressing so fast. I’m sure everywhere is the same feeling though. It’s no joke

Exactly. And tests are in very short supply.

NYC area sounds like the most affected currently, crazy times.

Worst thing is we don't even know how many have it cause we denied the tests from the WHO months ago.

the USA will be one of the most affected countries because of this.

How would you know that you have it if there are no ill effects the point I was making is you can spread it without even knowing. That’s an extremely selfish thing to do.

No, it really was just made now. Aaron and Craig of CMXRS, the group that actually runs the race series, just called and told me. I'm 2000 miles away from it all.

They did everything they could to try and get it done.

There are some people on this board who really struggle to grasp some basic concepts.

I get it, you guys don’t trust the mainstream media.
But look at what is happening in Europe, this shit is not being made up, if you guys think this is no worse than a seasonal flu you are fucking morons, which usually doesn’t bother me, but in this case that thinking is fucking dangerous.
The world isn’t going to end, but it’s going to be a bumpy ride, and if we use some common sense and listen to scientists rather than Facebook posts we can make it a smoother ride, plus save a shit load of lives along the way.

The economy is in the toilet, everyone is making massive sacrifices, but some dumbshits think missing a few races is the end of the world.
I love Motorsport, but get a grip

Thats kind of the whole point of this huge massive shutdown of businesses and "shelter in place" mandates.

It's the only way to ensure the majority of us don't get it...healthy, young, old, everyone...is through these extreme measures. Is it that hard to comprehend?
